Grilling up some Cajun Puppies – Jan 1, 2015 (First LD of the year)

This is a Dream Induced Lucid Dream (DILD). I was in a French, Louisiana Cajun, bayou, swamp land, walking down a gravel road, when I came upon an old, wood shack of a restaurant where people were gathering. It was nighttime and I could see some yellowish light flicking in the windows. The building was made from old, weathered, gray boards, and looked like it needed some major repairs. When I walked inside there were several tables with some French Metis Cajuns sitting around and eating and drinking. I felt hungry, so I walked up to the counter to see what they were frying up. There was lots of hissing and sizzling going on in the kitchen area. I really was expecting to see some crawdads being fried up, but what I saw shocked me!

When I looked over the counter I could see 3 or 4 Cajuns gathered around a 3 foot diameter wood fired wok which was surrounded by smoke and steam. Then I looked closer to see what was on the menu, and it was little puppies! One of them was standing up in the wok looking at me with its big black eyes, and sad face, as its little feet sizzled away. The first thing I thought was no way, this can’t be real, and nobody would fry up little puppies. I instantly knew I was dreaming, I’m lucid! Yaaay! I moved back from the counter and did a little song and dance in the restaurant area, and then I headed outside (no point rescuing the puppies in a dream). This girl walked by me in the parking lot area. It was my childhood friend Jill!

I grabbed Jill by the shoulder to stop her, and I looked at her right in the face, and said, “Jill!” She looked startled and confused, and then she said my name, and blurted out, “Where are we?” My first thought was to tell her we’re dreaming, but that never goes over well, so I said, “I don’t know.” She then stood back from me smiling and started to clown around with fun talk like we use to do as kids. I put my arm over her shoulders and we went walking across the parking lot, as I told her, “I’m really enjoying our visit.” She smiled at me, and then my LD started to fade, so I instantly started to swirl to bring back my lucidity (so I could see). When my vision came back Jill was gone, darn, and there was French Metis Cajun fellow target shooting with his bow and arrow, and second Metis fellow walked up to me.

I said to the Metis, French Cajun fellow, “That guy will make a good deer hunter.” He looked at me and said, “What?” and then laughed, and I followed him into a small shack where we sat down at a small rectangular table (I use to hunt deer with the bow). I asked him how he keeps his lucidity, because I was thinking he was a lucid dreamer too, but he said, “I’m always like this.” I said to him, “It’s probably your native blood coming through.” (I meant native Canadian people are spiritually connected) He looked at me and laughingly said, “What are you saying?” I then woke up.

It takes a lot of effort to shoot a deer with a bow. Maybe one deer after 2 or 3 years of hunting (dozens of hunting trips). I always feel guilty when I finally shoot one, so I haven't gone in a few years now. Those darn deer keep showing up in my dreams, as innocent playful things (which they are). The best part of hunting is getting out there into the wilderness and just observing and soaking it all up. I don't really care if I get anything or not.

Wow, I didn't think it would be that hard. But i guess its sort of a good thing since it would be sad to lose so many innocent deer. I wish I could see the wilderness like you did though. ^^ Must be lots of fun to observe such a place and to try out adventurous things there.

Thanks Dawn, there sure is a lot of wilderness in Canada to easily be enjoyed without going too far. I'm very lucky to have that!
