#1 I forgot most of this one. Something about some occult trying to stop my wedding to my wife. I have to fight back. I think they look like The Dark Brotherhood from Skyrim. I destroy some strange structure and some how I know that doing so killed my parents.

#2 I am walking in a park. A woman that looks like the non-cartoon version of Asian Reporter Thrisha Takanawa puts a mic in my face and asks me some questions. I tell her I don't speak Chinese. (Takanawa sounds Japanese to me) Someone tells me to just fake it. I say random nonsense stuff and they all act like I am saying something really great. (I think this is inspired by the family episode we watch before bed were Louis becomes Mayor) I see my face on a T.V. screen but it's not the news it's AFV. Apparently I didn't something stupid but funny. Something about "Cat Litter Surprise". Then they use my face to add on animations for other clips. I keep popping in saying "MONEY" in a comical German Hitler like voice. Everyone thinks it's so funny and acts like I am some kind of famous comedian.

I wake and try to MILD but I drift off into another dream

#3 Lisa from work is sitting at a table on a large deck outside.. my house? It feels awkward because I wonder if she is mad at me. She is talking to some other woman that looks like Michelle. I see bird poop on the deck and wish I had a hose to wash it off. Suddenly water starts to jet from in-between my toes on my right foot. I awkwardly wash the deck of. Lisa say's something polite to me and I respond then continue to wash the deck. I even give the grass a little water.I think, It's probably going to rain soon.

I wake up just before my WBTB alarm at 5AM. I get for a while and use MILD with mantra

    #194 - 7:08AM - MILD

I am walking around some theme park with my wife that I think of as Six Flags. I think we must have ridden a few rides together. We pause looking for more stuff to do but it seems like there just aren't very many rides. She stops at some glass container full of something like Children's Miracle Network pledge cards. She is taking a bunch of pictures of random stuff then turns a takes an up close pictures of some woman and her infant. I begin to think of this a something like Disney World or Universal Studio's. I get a sense of urgency and want to make the most of our time since we probably will never come back. I become annoyed that she is wasting so much time and I gripe at her a little. She agrees and we turn and walk away now.
She seems sad and says, "Sorry you're not having any fun."
"No, it's not that.(lie) It's that we don't have much time left you are taking pictures of people's random babies." (I worded that funny in the dream. LOL.)
We look around and I feel really disappointed with this place. There just isn't much to do here. Then, I see some strange ride taking off on tracks.
My wife sees it too and says, "Ooohh nope nope nope!" and runs away. I wonder what is so bad about that ride as I chase after. We exit some glass doors and I got the feeling like the park was inside. There seems to be more stuff to do outside.

The sun is bright and I look around. There seems to be something like a park with trees and perfectly manicured lawn to the right. It looks like some people are gathering with chairs to watch a show in the shade. I see my father-in-law walking around like he works here. I notice he is wearing something like a tan Leprechaun suit complete with top hat. I find this really odd because he never wears suits and is a very large Native American. I think we should at least say hi to him before we move on but my wife is walking really fast and getting too far ahead of me. I feel torn whether or not I should follow her or talk to him. Then I see that suit again and notice he is doing something really odd. He's rubbing is hands together but has hay in-between. All this is too much and I ask myself, Am I dreaming? I think for a second, *gasp* I AM dreaming! I feel like I am about to wake up but I try to ignore it best I can.

I run over to my wife and take both of her hands. I look her close in the face and note how shifty and wavy it is but I ignore it. "Babe! We are dreaming! This is a dream!"
She doesn't say anything but she pulls away and gives me one of her you're-crazy-go-away looks. I sigh and let it go. I know there won't be any convincing her after that look. I pace in a circle rubbing my hands, thinking what my goals were. I can't seem to remember so I decide to just explore. I look out and see a small parking lot and a familiar looking street street and some building beyond. There is a red vehicle parked that looks like ours. I wonder if I am going to walk, run, drive or fly. But I really want my wife to come along so I say to her,"Well, I'm going to go do some stuff now. Are you coming?" I turn to look at her and take her hand but I wake up.

Heh, the first thing I thought of when your father-in-law was rubbing his hands together was, "That guy's stabilizing the dream!"

      Congratulations on the LD!

Speaking of VILD, I was thinking about going back to MILD myself tonight too. (My MILD's kind of like how Naiya's method suggests doing it, so pretty VILD-ish.) Once I go dry with SSILD, I never have any clue how to debug it, so I wind up just having to move back to something I understand better.

So I'll be joining you on the month of MILD, although I'll still throw WILD attempts in there when I'm feeling punchy.

I'm not sure she meant VILD I'm trying to stick with Laberge's MILD technique but I think I did mix it up a little Naiya's style.

I'm like you with SSILD well really I'm that way with most techs. I usually switch it up when I go dry. I think I get bored with a tech and just need to keep it fresh.

Cool! Join the MILD fun! I'll probably alway WILD when I'm feeling extra wakeful for whatever reason. It's just my favorite when conditions are right.

Oh really? Oops, ha ha. I should actually review ETWOLD to remind myself of exactly how Laberge lays out MILD. I find the visualization style so fun that this is the one I've naturally gravitated to for a long while now.

It really is close to VILD I think. I actually almost gave myself one this morning before successfully switching over to WILD.

Hey, congratulations! Nice teaser for the DJ entry. Looking forward to seeing it!

I didn't LD last night but I only got <6 hours sleep last night, so no huge surprise. But I still had really vivid dreams, no aids or anything. I wonder whether that's a side benefit of this style of MILD. Will be interesting to study that.

      Yes lol. Posted now.

Well I know my recall goes up a little when I do this. So maybe! Speaking of aids I think this is the last cholinergic trial until I get 5 LDs unaided. I think a little break will be good.

Sorry for the confusion with VILD. Was referring to Xanous' pre bed supps.

I also get bored with sticking to one tech so am totally inconsistent when it comes to induction. The only must is a decent WBTB and then I pick the tech depending on my mood. By the way a question about VILD/MILD. When you visualize is it like really vivid and are you able to see the dream/visualization in detail (I mean before you fall asleep). I think I have lost my ability to properly visualize. When I do my DS review for example I have a quick image flash through my mind like my school, etc. but cannot hold and examine it. My MILD/incubation is more verbal/conceptual unless I try to remember a past dream. I suppose your MILD visualization gets better with time? Do you practice any other kind of visual exercises, maybe day dreaming?

      Posted now.
Cool! I will check it out later. Enjoy the weekend guys!

Visualization is really something I am weak on but I am getting better with practice. When I MILD it's mostly forced and hard to get any details but it's much better when it's right after a dream and I am alert.

I really need to start sivasion's class back up and work on visualizing during the day. It seems to me that would help the most but it's hard to get that quiet time any more.

Edit: BTW I often revert back to the feelings of the OBEs and visualize exploring my house. That's usually way easier because it's so familiar.

Oh, ha! I didn't even think about the Valerian.

Yeah, for a variety of reasons, visualization is something that comes naturally to me. I've always had sort of a "high-def imagination" as far back as I can remember. I think it's mostly down to practice. When I was a kid, I played a lot of those old school text adventures like Zork. After playing them for long enough I wound up with very detailed, vivid maps in my head of the locations in the games. Most of them are still, even after all this time, as vivid to me as waking life memories.

I believe that visualization is a skill that simply gets better with practice. The next time that you're reading a really descriptive, rich piece of fiction, it would probably help to really work on visualizing the scenes in as much detail as you can. Daydream exercises sound good too. At a random time imagining yourself activating some kind of dream control power is good. Or flying off from your current location and what all of that would look like. One interesting one that I read about a while back was to imagine the current scene from the perspective of somebody else nearby, maybe the person four cars in front of you, the neighbor down the street, etc.

The main thing is that I really do believe it's trainable!

Thanks for the replies guys! So I can conclude that every person is different but it is quite encouraging that this skill can be developed over time. I definitely need to have a look at sivason's class and see what exercises he suggests doing. I also like the idea of trying to imagine the scene from another person's perspective or trying to imagine yourself flying over the current location. It doesn't seem to require much time plus it is a nice prep for an LD and a RC.

I still get too a few LDs in my current place, but I guess looking around and trying to memorize stuff might help to build something like a start base? Although I am a bit creeped out to have dreams in my place after all these FAs.

Xanous, just finished reading your entry as well and see how helpful visualization can be in the void.

I love it when you guys do practice to back up the theory. Once again thanks for the replies. I feel very motivated to visualize, now all that's left is to really start doing it. With July beginning, it might be a good idea to put more visualization exercises in my agenda. Happy dreaming to all!

Ah shit. I just realized V=VODKA! I was so confused but I didn't want to say anything. BTW I can't take Valerian Root any more... well at least not for any consecutive number of nights. It causes me to be depressed for whatever reason. Maybe it does things to my REM sleep that are not favorable? I haven't really researched it I was only taking to because I read it helps with RLS.

Lol! I guess I should phrase my jokes in a less mysterious way.

I haven't (I think) noticed depression after Valerian, but after some? (did not write down, I think htp?, but not sure) supps I do feel some kind of depressive mood trying to take hold. This was more noticeable one-two months ago, but I will be on the lookout after these supps. I usually take valerian to help with falling asleep but it tends to put me into deep sleep mode so have reduced dose from 400mg to 200 mg. Had a quick look at wiki and another site, it seems it might cause some depression, so if you feel like that then better not take it too often.

About RLS have you considered incorporating some mild to moderate exercises after work, maybe like jogging or even simply some squats to improve circulation in feet? Also showering the problematic leg with some cold water prior to sleep. This might be more appropriate for tired legs in general but maybe your RLS is related, like if you stay on your feet for too long or just the opposite if you sit and don't move much. If you have the time and desire give it a try, see if there is any improvement.

Thanks for the suggestions to this. I've tried several approaches. Exercise doesn't seem to matter and supplements only help for a while but limiting my caffeine during the day has. I hope it continues.
