    A Robot In The Dark

    #165 - 4:50AM - WILD/DEILD/OBE

I briefly lost awareness during my WILD and a short scattered NLD. It seemed mostly like HI and random thoughts. Something about FA and the time being 5:20 something. I regain awareness and start to wake up.

I hold still for DEILD and feel a slight vibrations and then nothing. I don't feel like I'm in the dream yet so I focus on the back of my neck. Soon the vibrations feel strong and I transition out of bed.

I make my way in to the dinning room but its too dark. I turn around and notice the bedroom is brightly lit so I go back in. My goal this time was simple. Summon a lightsaber and destroy dream objects with it and generally have some fun. I reach to my left thigh and try to imagine a lightsaber in my hand. For some reason I feel the need to run in place a little and get in a baseball ready stance. When I bring my hand in front of me there is nothing but my empty hand making. I try to just go with it and imagine that its there and I just can see it yet. I turn it on and imagine the sound but nothing is really happening. The moment I decide to give up the dream collapses.

I felt myself bed in bed and thought I was awake. As I was trying to DEILD but I quickly realize that I was just in the void. I begin rubbing my hands together and the feeling was realistic but this time I could actually hear my hands loudly. I stop, lick them once, clap once really hard, note the sound, then rub my hands a little longer. I quickly feel like I am getting nowhere and feel like I can't move to transition so I do the next thing I could think of. I roll really hard and fast. It seems like when I do this I spin fast than light I get a brief visual of streaking light like I am going into warp. I stop when I see this hoping a dream would form. Instead I found my dream body teetering over the edge of the bed. For a second I wonder if its really happening but it feels too numb. I decide to take a leap of faith and allow myself to fall. Instead of crashing hard to the floor, I gently float down and softly land. I immediately try to get up but it feel like gravity suddenly got way too heavy. I struggle and push and brace myself on the wall until I am finally standing. I take one labored and unsteady step and then its like the weight lifted and I easily glide to the door.

I see or rather sense a light in the kitchen and head that way. I pause in the dinning area and consider stabilizing but I feel too impatient. I notice the living is way too dark but the light in the kitchen is actually a little brighter than real life. Everything looks in oder with no strange anomalies. I do notice that the back door is wide open and the storm door is closed. I considered lingering in the kitchen until this got a little more stable but I take the open door as an invitation to explore. I notice it looks really dark beyond the glass but there seems to be a few houses with porch lights on. I find this encouraging.

I open the door and poke my head out not wanting to venture too far in case I start to get sucked back in the void. I feel a cold breeze on my face and briefly wonder about the temperature of the bedroom. I let it go for now. The yard looks completely normal for the middle of the night with nothing strange. (It's dreams like these that make me believe OBE's are real.) I habitually look up at the night sky. I let out a whispered wow when I see how stunningly beautiful the stars are tonight. The sky was perfectly clear with no light pollution. Countless blue stars vividly cluttered up the night sky. It was all very breath taking. As I stared at them I begin to notice movement. Two of the stars became glowing eyes. There were two horse like beasts made of blue nebulae at a side view. One star for each eye. As they galloped together across the sky, I smiled to myself. I recognized this as one of my oldest and consistent dream signs. I suddenly got the idea to fly to a distant star Waggoner style. There were so many to choose from so I took a finger and pointed to one at random. As I began to focus on it, a noise completely distracts me.

I hear what sounds like something on plastic wheels (like a stroller) loudly coming down the dirt and gravel alley. It is too dark to see in that direction and I am really curious what's going on. I call out, "Is someone there?" In reply I hear a classic generic echoy robot voice say something indiscriminate. I'm a little frighten but curiosity pushes the fear away. I call out again, "Is that a robot?" No reply this time. "Helloooooooo?" I wait for a reply as I strain to see what is making that noise in the darkness. The dream fades and I wake up.

Nice dream goal! I love it. A light saber is such a great idea. I'm aware of no Colosseum rules that would prevent me from ripping off this idea!

Okay, I cracked up at the running in place...

Man, that entire stargazing scene is amazing, but particularly this part! I had no idea that this was a dream sign for you. Is it really that specific? Star-horses galloping across the night sky? That's a great image. Why don't I remember this?

I really want to know what was rolling up on you. I thought that you were going to have a little R2-D2 type of dream buddy join you.

Yeah if you summon one up go for it. that should be really effective!

I knew I should have clarified. lol. That dream sign is just anything unusual in the sky especially when star gazing. That was the first time seeing horse beast.

I actually expected some 1950s scifi looking think to appear. Too bad I woke up!

Man, this happens to me often when I'm lucid. Drives me crazy.

Too bad your space adventure didn't pan out, I was stoked when I read you were going to try

I usually just have that sluggish issue when I start an OBE but I can usually power through it.

I know I'm really disappointed that I got distracted so easily. That not typical for me. I'll get another shot I'm sure.
