#234 - DEILD - 3:42AM
I have a false awakening sitting at a table. I wonder why I fell asleep and my wife says I should go to bed. I tell her that I was waiting up to catch the weather on the news but I feel too tried to care anymore. I lay down in bed and for some reason I chew gun. I fall asleep and wake up.
I think how close I was to becoming lucid and lay still for a DEILD. Almost immediately I feel a little odd and then very mild vibrations start. I wonder if this is it so I try moving and find that everything is more difficult and sluggish. I become excited and my heart starts racing. I remember to remain calm and just focus on starting the dream. I find myself standing but my arms feel horrible twisted and misshapen. I figure the best way to get past this is to look at my hands.
I see my hands in front of me now and my arms feel normal. I note the distorted shapes of my fingers. It looks like I am also moving very quickly. Everything around me is a blur. I continue to focus on my hands and rub them from time to time. I remember my goal to steal a car and go for a joyride and almost instantly I am sneaking around in a parking lot at night next to a red Grand AM. I hop in the passenger side and move over to the driver seat. I pop the ignition with the palm of my hand and pretend to turn the ignition with out looking. The car starts up right away, the lights come on, and I hit the gas. The car seems to be sluggish and slow at first but after a while it picks up speed. It's now day time and as I cruise through some neighborhood I spot several houses with large brick pillars with windows in the yard close to the house. They were like some sort of strange out building. I decide to crash the car into one of the house and I take a hard right navigating in-between two pillars. I try to think about what is inside the house because I am afraid that my lack of imagination will put me in a typical blackout. I begin to laugh as I speed toward the house.
I crash through a large window of the house but it doesn't stop me and I barrel on through the other side and into the street. I don't bother stopping there and go ahead and hit the house across the way. This house has a low brick wall under a bay window and I make the car pop a wheely hoping to get over. The front clears it but the back hits hard and flips the back end up. Now I am nose diving in someones living room from a 3rd person perspective. The car comes to a stop and I think about getting out.
Suddenly I am at the front door. As I open it to step out some man in a suit is coming in. I announce, "Another job well deserved." Though, I meant to say "well done". I shrug this off and walk away from the house as calmly as I can so that any one watching me wont think I am suspect. Out of the corner of my right eye, I see an old truck driving up into the lawn in a hurry. I figure it is someone there to help with the mess but Ignore it. As I am walking I feel mentally tired like I have been holding the dream too long and I need to relax and wake up. I almost do just that but decide against it. I want to hold on as long as I can. This feeling soon passes.
I start to hop a fence into a neighboring yard but there is a grubby little boy standing there. He opens the gate and approaches me. I am curious why my dream sent this DC out so I stop to talk to him forgetting whatever carnage I left behind me, though I feel like I am switching roles from mad man to psychiatrist. There is some guilty emotion there but I let it go.
I ask the boy, "What do you represent?"
His answer, "The Thunder Monster!"
I am amused. "What? Thunder Monster? Do it."
"Rawr!"
I shake my head, "Oh that''s shitty."
He give another weak "rawr" and I say, "No. Like this." I point to the sky keeping my eyes on him. I wait but nothing happens so I make the sound with my mouth. A deep rolling thunder fills my ears and the fullness of it sounds completely realistic.
The little boy stands there lack jawed and lets out a long, "Woooowwww."
I look up to see storm clouds forming above us the this action make my physical eyes do strange things. The sensation of it wake me up.
