      Beefer's WorkBook

      Hi there,
I am Beefer and I am 16. I have been into lucid dreaming for almost two months now (month and a half ). I have been writing a dream journal for a month a half and even had one DILD. I am a very realistic guy (I like science and computer...) ,even though I saw the potential in lucid dreaming and I am willing to invest all of my motivation and resources in order to achieve a lucid dream. 'I am getting a lucid dream no matter what!!!' that is my mantra and the idea that guides me. I am doing reality checks on a daily basis, I write every day in the journal even if I can't recall any dream or dream fragments and I am also trying to practice WILD. Lately my recall started to decrease and I am having troubles at preforming WILD. I have came here since I think I need some help from outside and because I usually get ahead of myself and overreact about things which involves lucid dreaming ,SP and going to sleep in general.
The goals I set for myself are the following:
      1. Water bending - to be able to control a flow of water , shape it and make it fly when I wish to (Telekinesis can fit here too...)
      2. Flying - I want to be able to fly up in the sky
      3. Talk to dream characters - I want to ask dream characters for what they represent and maybe by that communicate with my subconsciousness.

These are my goals, this is my mantra, I willing to get any advice that will help me induce lucid dreaming or improve my recall.

      Thanks in advance!

Note:I posted the same thread at the general lucid dream class, because I think that taking more than one class might be more effective

Your avatar reminds me from FMA.
Good goals and its good to have a DJ, do you take notes when waking up during the night? Or think back on the dream after waking up? that also helps with recall.
Your MILD sounds good, do you do any RCs by chance?

My avatar is Edward Elric and I am a fan of FMAB (a must watch anime!!!)
      I do 4 RCs:
      1. Counting fingers
      2. Throwing an object to the air
      3. Trying to breath through closed nose
      4. Looking for anything suspicious and ask myself if I am dreaming
(Only the first and the fourth has worked so far)

I write in the journal every morning, if I wake up at night I try to trace back my dreams ,but I do not take notes (unless it is a lucid dream and then I just write it down ). By the way I think that my recall is coming back to me since yesterday I remembered 3 dreams and a fragment of a 4th dream! So today I will make even more progress and get myself a lucid dream no matter what! any tips for lucid dreaming will help!

Agreed, FMAB is a great anime!
Throwing an object to the air?
Good about hte recall, though taking notes generally helps.
For lucidity... when you wake up, try not to think that much back on the dream, but remember to stimulate your mind in any way you want to, also try to RC by "feeling" of a dream at the time, that should enhance chances of DILD greatly. If you do MILD when waking up during the night, I would say the shorter the better to balance your waking-mind with the dreaming one.

Yes throwing an object to the air and see if it falls back down (I read it is not necessarily the case).
I like the idea of RC by "feeling" of a dream it sounds right and logical at the same time!
Now yesterday I had my second lucid dream. I don't why ,but every time I give up on going some where with my friends and motivate myself toward a lucid dream I get one! I guess that what is called Equivalent Trade (FMAB ). So I woke up in the middle of the night from a dream, recalled it a little (I should have taken notes of it...) and went back to sleep. Then I woke up in a military airplane with some of my friends and then the girl friend of the friend that was with me in plane suddenly came with another plane and asked "You know that you are dreaming right?" and I was like "Yeah sure I do". So from that point I became lucid and started to fly around with my plane, summon vehicles and just drive around. It was pretty fun and I would like to do more stuff so tonight I am getting another lucid dream no matter what!

I am not sure how to describe my recall so I will try and lets see if that what you meant ^.^ . So I usually just lay down in the bed and start to think about the my dreams. I focus hard until I can remember them and recall them. I remember 7.5 dreams on average per a week according to data in my journal (this data was gathered from the dreams I wrote for last four weeks and it is including fragments of dreams). It also seems that my recall grew from 6 dreams per a week to 11 dreams per a week. I hope I was able to describe my recall good enough .

Today I had 2 dreams. I am not sure if you can call them lucid dreams or not ,but I am quite positive about that. In the first dream I was lying on my bed and looked to the ceiling (which is pretty close to my bed) and I saw the sentence "sleep well" written on it in black bold letters. I realized that it shouldn't be there because i just fell asleep and instinctively (by "feeling" ) preformed a reality check. I looked at my hand and wasn't able to see it so well so I understood the reality check failed. I wanted to try things out ,but then I realized that if I would try to move I would encounter a SP and scare myself. So I decided to wake up and went to sleep again. Now I looked at a website. It was about lucid dreaming I think. I understood again that I am in a dream by noticing the words on the website changing when I stare at them. Then I blocked the word "waterbending" with my hand and removed it and suddenly it changed. Then I was 100% sure it was a dream ,but then I realized I had no body and without a body you can't do anything. So I woke up (again) depressed and went to school. The point is that I think that while I am in a dream I think in a very logical way instead of going loose and doing what ever I would like. Do you have any advice that will help me do what ever I want without encountering these logical thoughts? or any idea of what should I do in those situations?

Sounds good, I'd say at least one dream per night is a minimum before we can get effective LD results, try to teach yourself to wake up after each dream, it's fairly easy. Just tell yourself to wake up when the dream ends before you go to bed.
Dream 1 sounded so close do you realising, so close.
Dream 2 was a lucid, well done! I think from that experience we need to start focusing on control and stabilisation.
Split your consciousness into two, one part concentrates on the objectives of the lucid dream, the second maintains awareness and stability within the dream, you always need to be thinking about how you are aware as it is so easy to forget it.

Today, I had the most vivid lucid dream I ever had. I actually had 2 LDs. In the first LD my mom was lecturing me because my books and notebooks are a mess. So I went up and organized them (can't believe I didn't realize it is a dream here ) and then I went to bed. Inside the LD I was focusing on getting an LD just like I did when I really went to sleep. So in the dream I focused on Edward Elric (maybe because I listened to the OP of the series that evening ). Then I suddenly heard the song played in my ears. My mind try to tell me that I have earphones and that is why I hear it inside my ears ,but then I realized that I just went to sleep so it isn't possible so everything until then was a dream! I forced my eyes open and saw myself on my bed. Then I tried to fix the scene and said "That is not what I am supposed to see". The other me disappeared. Then I commanded myself "Stand up!" and I stood up. I tried to slip my finger trough the ceiling and it didn't work. I also tried to fly and failed. then I saw the moon through the ceiling and woke up. I recalled my dream a little and went back to sleep. There I was at my aunt's house in the states. I am going to skip that part to the part I became lucid. I came out of the room I was in and saw my dad. The I asked myself "wait how come my dad is here too? he shouldn't be here ". The he came towards me and gave me a fatherly hug and i said "it is a dream" calmly. Suddenly the hug became intense and I told my dad "dad stop" ,but he didn't so I commanded him with an aggressive voice "Dad stop ! " and he stopped. Then my family came from downstairs and I showed them I can fly (it was more like air swimming ,but that is the same for me ). I then flew outside and chased a friend that mocked me as a joke. I grabbed the car he was driving and commanded it to brake as I teared it apart . It teared apart and I felt complete control over the dream. In a certain point I tried to increase my awareness by focusing as much objects as I can at a time. I was in an HD lucid dream where everything seemed as vivid as it is right now. Then a friend of mine grabbed my legs while I was flying and I woke up with my eyes closed. It is the first time I was able to maintain awareness and control the dream in the same time!

Oh-ho, very cool dream, good thing you got control sorted. Congratulations!
Next time, try to use clap-alchemy and open the door?

      Hi there,
Just stopped by to tell you that I had 3 DILDs tonight!!!!! I am already able to fly in my dreams and have a good control over my surroundings! Actually since I joined your class I achieved 9 DILDs . I just felt like I have to thank you before I will write anything else so ehhmm. Even though I can fly , summon DCs and shape them and even do a KAMEHAMEHA (DBZ ^^) I can't remember the most of my basic dream goals. For example I really wanted to water bend in a dream ,but I never even remembered this goal in my lucid dreams. Do you have any suggestion how can I remember them even a little better?

      Man, that's awesome. Congrats!

It helps you remember your goal, if you write it down, daydream about it, even pretend you doing it during day. Kind of like developing 'muscle memory'. That's how they train you in military. So you remember your moves, no matter what. It works for me. Also, tell yourself as you falling asleep - 'tonight I'm water bending'. Happy dreams

      Hi there,
Thanks gab your advice worked like magic. Before I went to sleep I wrote in my dream journal "It's water bending time!". In the dream I was in a Minecraft world where I met my little brother and his friend. They asked me to help them in their game (Minecraft probably) so I tried to show them water bending. I tried to create a wave of water that will go in the direction I was looking to ,but instead the wave came from my side. Then a tsunami came after my smaller wave and almost flushed me , my brother and his friend away. After that I also froze the water nearby the shore because they (my little brother and his friend) asked me to help them cross the ocean. Anyways I couldn't control the water in a full control ,but it was the same with flying on my first try so I am sure I will be able to control it in a better way next time. Anyway thanks gab!
