Vivid dreams but no dream control?

I noticed that The more vivid my lucid dreams are the less control i have over them. because they seem more like reality i guess? normally i can fly easily but in my vivid lucid dreams i can barely do anything.... whats the point then? :[ the whole reason i wanted to lucid dream was so i could feel what it would be like to fly. but most times the vividness is so low it doesnt feel real, and if it does, i cant convince myself im able to fly.

That's an interesting dilemma, I haven't heard of control fading with increased dream vividness. Remember that no matter how vivid the dream is, though, it's still a dream. Nothing can change that. If you're unsure of whether you can fly because the dream's so realistic, perform a few reality checks to confirm that you're dreaming; it may help get the feeling back. Unfortunately that's where my advice ends; I don't have much else to say.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Aw, Thank YOU ;] i was feeling a bit hopeless there. But you made me realize initially after it gets very vivid, i stop doing reality checks because i only do them in dreams to make it more vivid... maybe thats my problem!

No problem. And, probably. I think it might also come from your skepticism that you could still be awake. Maybe you could also try being more aware in waking life so you're not so unsure in dreams?

I don't think it's the same problem, but I've had a lot of "semi lucid" dreams before. It's hard to describe the feeling, but it's basically like watching a movie. I'll be seeing through my own eyes and knowing I'm dreaming, but instead of taking control I'll just chill and watch what's going on. One time I had a dream I was doing something illegal like vandalizing stuff, and I ended up getting arrested, and while I was getting arrested I remember thinking, "okay, this dream sucks now, time to end it". In the morning I think back and am so pissed I didn't try and control it and/or just do a DEILD. Guess it'll take more practice.
