Hm, instead of opening again, try imagining a new scene? |

Hey all, I'm new to the forum but not really to lucid dreaming. I've had plenty before, lucid in the sense that I'm aware I'm dreaming and I have active control over what I'm doing and how I'm interacting with the characters but no control over the 'physical' dream world itself i.e., I can say and do what I want within reason of reality but I can't, for example, fly at will or make things materialize. I'm now flipping through the dream control section (namely that 16 page thread) but I had a question about eyes: |

Welcome to dreamviews sinik. About the flying and materializing, it just takes more practice. Practice your expectations, get rid of doubts. And second, the eyes opening and closing seem to be just placebo waking you up, next time try to not think that it will wake you up, if you want, you can think that it will transport you to a different scene. |

I read on another thread regarding dream clarity strength to reach around and interact with the dream world. I think next time it happens where my eyes close and I think it'll wake me up but I still can hear and sense my dream world I'll just kneel down and rub the floor and feel its texture before and while I open my eyes. |

So I finally found a solution to my problem. Last night I had my first truly lucid dream in a while, to the point that I decided I'm just going to start counting from 0 and now this is the first (even though I know I've had dozens in the past however many years). When my eyes close, it's pretty much a fork in the road for my body. Either I need to find some way to become lucid or the dream will just end and I'll wake up only to go back to sleep a minute or two later. Well I spoke to a friend who had a conversation with LaBerge back in the day and he suggested just spinning in a circle. I'm not sure of the biological implications of this, maybe it has to do with triggering your inner ear or something but it worked! I spun in a circle a few times and then was joyous when I was able to open my eyes and continue the dream, fully lucid. I proceeded to hover around the place and even managed to make a friend materialize, though it may have been a bit much for my brain (materializing) as I woke up a few minutes later. |
