      Controlling dreams - for beginners

Hi I'm new here and want to ask how people really controll their dreams and if there are any negative side effects.

I can have very vivid dreams that I totally remember when I wake up however I want to have these more often! How can I make myself dream this?

Are there negative side effects? If so what?

I read somewhere you keep a note book etc?

      Please help out thanks

      sophie

Well In the carlos castaneda books Don Juan says that a number of things in your mind will try to stop you from lucid dreaming.
from small little things like not being able to sleep to suicidal depression if it gets bad.

Check out some of the tutorials in the Wiki to get started lucid dreaming. DV Tutorials - Dreamviews Lucid Dreaming Community & Resource You could get started with Seeker's old quick start tutorial: Lucid Dreaming Quick Start Tutorial - Dreamviews Lucid Dreaming Community & Resource

There aren't any negative side effects to lucid dreaming. If you get really into it, you might start rearranging your sleep schedule. This could cause you to get less sleep. It doesn't have to, though.

pros of lucid dreaming = EVERYTHING

cons = you might get disappointed and/or pissed off when that gun just won't appear in your hands
They say dreaming is dead, no one does it anymore.
It's not dead it's just that it's been forgotten, removed from our language.
Nobody teaches it so nobody knows it exists.
The dreamer is banished to obscurity.
Well, I'm trying to change all that, and I hope you are too.
      By dreaming, every day.

thats very rare, and in MY opinion can be quickly disregarded.
