      Method of Loci In Dreams

      Hi everyone,

I am a new member of this community, but I have been reading the forum for some time now. I am trying to become a better lucid dreamer but it takes time I suppose.

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone out there uses the method of loci to remember things in their waking life. If yes, then have you tried creating a mnemonic journey in waking life that corresponds to your dream goals and then visiting that journey in your dream in order to remember? In this way you would simply have to remember to check your mnemonic journey in your memory palace and you would have all of your goals laid out before you.

Let me know if this has worked for anyone... I'm waiting for my next LD in order to test this dream control theory myself.

Yes, I have experimented with something similar to this.

It's easier to assume a familiar, simple scenario, like finding your way home after work, and then go from there. Associations are made in the moment, so to speak, and don't entirely follow the proper pattern when dreaming. Losing my train of thought and not maintaining the idea of "importance" was always a problem.

Hmm, that is interesting. I still haven't had an LD to test it myself, but at least I know what to expect. I have a route set right from the front door of my house... just waiting to try it.
Any others out there who have tried this?

I have a nice big memory palace and i've been trying to visit it in my lucid dreams for about a month or two. Today I had a nice lucid dream but in the dream i was so far away from the location where my memory palaces are, and i did't want to force teleportation or flying because i feared that the dream would end. I will still try to, because I really want to improve my memory....
My life is so much interesting inside my head...

Alright, good to see another person on board. Keep us updated; if you make any progress let me know. If this works it could revolutionize the art of bringing real world ideas into the dream.

That's a good idea, as I often have trouble accessing waking memories from within the dream. I'll give that a try.

I haven't done anything like that OP, I use my phone or my DCs to find dream goals. Just write them down on your phone so that when you are in a dream and you have a list of the right there, or just ask a dream character what you goal is, or to take you to your goal. The dream character one backfires sometimes, but it is always fun watching dream characters.

Gotta get over that fear, remember that you do things like teleportation and things in non lucids all the time, so there is no reason it should wake you up now.
