      Practice Creation and Dream Control

Just Sit Down and Stay There While Willing Things Into Existence

I just came up with a really cool idea to exercise dream control within lucid dreams.

When you become lucid, sit down indian-style on the floor of whatever room/place you are in and close your eyes. Visualize anything and then open your eyes and see if it popped up.

Do this during the entire period of the lucid dream without doing anything else. Do nothing that involves standing up. Just practice sitting there opening and closing your eyes while willing new things into existence. You can create an environment and fill it with people. Anything is possible.

That's a clever idea, Starletdreamer; have you tried it yet?

Sometimes wouldn't the dream end if you close your eyes? That's what I heard. I'm going to try that cause my dream control sucks haha. But yeh good idea

Lucid dreams make your dreams come true!!

^^ It will only end if you expect it to end.

If you close your eyes with the full knowledge (being that you're lucid) that these are not actual eyes you are closing, but just another piece of your dream, and you know the dream is still there whether your DC eyes are open or closed, then when you open those dream eyes you will still be dreaming, still asleep.

But if you accept the stories you heard as true, and are sure that you will wake up if you close your eyes then you very likely will wake up. So I guess it's up to you!

I don't know why a culture arose on the forum discouraging this form of control, surely when completely self-aware in a dream you are aware that there are no physical restrictions to summoning.

This is a great method to use when attempting to induce a lucid dream or just to grounding yourself inside one. Summoning is actually one of my favourite things to do, I feel as though it's just about one of the most powerful powers, in more than one way. However, I don't necessarily think that needing to sit down or even close your eyes. It's perfectly possible to immediately will things into existence, only if you are able to imagine them almost instantaneously though which for newer users, can be difficult.

In regards to using this method as a way to induce lucid dreams, I have used a similar tech to induce WILDs. Simply create the scene and drop yourself in it. It takes some practice, but for me, it became quite effective.

      I know I'm not.

That was more theorising than personal experience. Though I really think that lack of self-awareness is the only impediment to control.

I only tried it once, but I closed my eyes and made one thing appear and it happened. I didn't try it over and over again. It just seems like a great way to experiment with dream control. I also closed my eyes once when I felt I was losing the dream and focused on it and made it more vivid. I'll try it in my next lucid dream and let you know how it goes.

Weell - at least eye-closing for 10 sec. was a TOTM not long ago - and I and also others did it.
So Ophelia was on a mission to counter the feeear - like usual.
And I could open them again in the dream - but in this case - not trying to manifest something, but just to dream on while having them closed - there was only the DC still left, whom I was embracing for the duration. And I believe, we were rotating in nothing much at all and then I woke up.
But not from closing my eyes.
Not surprising - the nothing - I had only focussed on feeling the embrace and being swirled about by him - so that's what was there.
It sounds good - I can only summon out of my sight at the moment - so why look away and not close the eyes and visualize instead.
Good idea - but yeah - I still have a bit of the feeear..

Idea. I know it's cliche to borrow LD metaphors from the Matrix, but how about using that white loading room program as a schema for dream manifestation at will?

Meditating in a dream is also quite useful. You learn to overcome the fear of "darkness", calming yourself, and dismissing the value of your own body. This forum member (Mayatara) has the habit of meditating in her lucid dreams, always thought it was a great thing.

Nice idea you got there Starletdreamer
