The other possibility is that you are too used to losing awareness when playing games. In other words.. If you lose awareness when you play games your brain may shift into low-awareness when a game or an element of one shows up.
Though with that said, i'm speculating. Someone out there probably has a better explanation.
That sounds about right. What's began to notice is that whenever I began to feel my awareness increase, whether by looking in a mirror, or just realizing the absurdity of the situation, there is usually a dream character who shows up and gets me back involved in the dream.
And this brings to my awareness a point of why this happens (at least, to me, and at most, to the majority): in waking life, people lose there awareness during certain situation indefinitely. Of course some situation is easier than others. For example, playing video game is almost always akin to being singularly focused on the game (but it doesn't have to be if you consciously make an effort to be mindful)
For me, I seem to go to autopilot mode when I speak with people in real life, so it's hella easy for my subconscious to use that as a backdoor for keeping my awareness low.
Now why the subconscious does that, that's a whole other topic (that I won't be able to answer yet, since I don't know). But solution would be to just work on awareness when you're doing those activities (I.e playing video games IRL) eventually it'll cross over. It wouldn't hurt to work with ADA/mindfulness in general too, actually
