techniques for waking up after each dream?

Hi! I apologise if this has already been answered, I couldn't find anything regarding this - but I was wondering if anyone could suggest how best to try and make sure to wake up after each dream? (it's for both recalling and entering the dream lucid)

      thanks!

I have nurtured a natural waking cycle. Unfortunately, that pretty much happens at the end of each REM cycle. That generally means that I have great dream recall from that cycle but it puts me in a less then perfect place for a WILD as I am usually starting a new REM cycle.

Experienced WILDers may tell you that you should use an alarm to wake you unnaturally while you are still in strong REM sleep if you wish to do a brief WBTB and then initiate a meaningful WILD.

In order to wake up naturally in the middle of the night I just use a mantra, something like "I wake up every night", and repeat it when I go to bed.
Don't forget that you wake up naturally every night, you just don't remember it, so, in essence, you only have to bring awareness to these awakenings.

Hi there. For my part, i just go to sleep with the deep intention to wake up after each REM periods for writing my dreams. I also love to drink before go to bed , so it helps me a lot actually

And, like LeaoLouro said, i repeat to myself a lot that i gonna wake up after each dreams. Sometimes it works sometimes not. But since i do it like that, my dream recalls and my night wakingup's increased a loooot in average.

I discovered that SSILD before bed causes me to wake up many times during the night right after dreams.

When you say drink before you go to bed, do you mean alcoholic beverages?

I wake up naturally quite a lot during the night. Well, according to the science in Laberge's book everyone has an awakening after REM just not everyone remembers it. Drinking a lot of water can help since it forces you to get up. I'm a water drinker so can have that issue sometimes, drinking too much. Especially when I work nights. Drinking too much at work before I come home.

I would never set an alarm clock if I don't need to get up to be somewhere whatever anyone says. What happens if you are in the middle of a fantastic lucid dream and your alarm goes off and you didn't even really need to get up for anything. I'd be pissed at myself for setting it. I've been woken out of lucid dreams due to my alarm clock plenty of times and it sucks. Sometimes even getting lucid during the ten minutes of hitting snooze. But not because of setting it for a WBTB or anything like that. Just a big no for me on that one.
