I read that if you feel like your dream is fading away, try rubbing your hands together.

Grabbing onto something in the dream is the only stabilization that has worked for me.

      Spinning also works.

Once, I was flying and the dream began to fade.
I did a somersault in mid air! and my dream boosted back up.

i did the things in billybobs dream control and they didnt work for me, so i took advice from someone else and tried walking around for a minute or so in the dream and damn that was the longest dream I've had, I sacrficed one minute and gained 15 minutes it was amazing. Give it a try and see if it works for you.

Dream Dilation is a red herring.

I'd recommend the OP practice remaining calm, completing reality checks and grounding himself in the dream before setting out for his lucid adventure.

Really, you're waking up because your most likely excited. Its important to remain calm.

Spinning has always worked for me, when the dream seems to be fading away, start to spin and youīll be back in no time!

I agree that once you get the hang of it DEILD has the potential to seriously lengthen the time you get to spend on a particular dream plot.

This works because keeping your dream body active can keep you in the dream. But one time for me it backfired, as I was spinning around my vision blurred more, and I woke up.

      Good idea also.

It is better to try and avoid waking up in the first place, but if you do wake up, and don't move or open your eyes, DEILD can work very well.

You'll stay in your dream as long as you're properly grounded. Stay aware of your surroundings and try not to get lost in your head. There are many established methods that can help you immerse yourself fully in the dream, but it'll be up to you to find what works best for you.

Lucidity always ends the same way, you start believing your current situation and surroundings are real.

If you want to lengthen your LDs, don't get involved in the dream plot. Remember nothing is real and keep yourself distanced from anything distracting.

I have to stop myself from flying in lucids in order to lengthen them, because once I start flying, it's so fun I don't do anything else

Practice. The more you have, the more likely they are to get longer. Practice makes perfect

I always get them to work, the ones that I do, rubbing my hands together, focusing on something in particular, or holding onto something,

      but
      ,

then 10 seconds later, I may feel my dream leaving me again, and do it. This time it doesn't work, then if it does, the next one won't, etc.

Other times, I can't even tell that it's leaving me in time, so I can't do anything about it!

I so need to do something about this...

Stay in one place. Sit down, and look around. Sit there for as long as you can. Sit down and look around at you dream setting for what feels like half an hour.
