Using a Ipod to take notes?

      Hi everyone,

Does anyone use an ipod or anything similar to record their dreams, and whether they had any success?

Has anyone tried both paper/pen and ipod and which one is better?

      thanks very much.

I tried using my ipod touch a while back. I found that, personally, it takes much longer to type it up on an ipod than using an actual computer (or even writing it down) - I can't seem to get the words out fast enough, so I might end up forgetting or going over certain details.

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

I use my iPod to take notes because I've had it for awhile and typing on it is pretty easy for me. Also it has a light so I don't need to worry about seeing.

I use my 3G iPod. It's pretty good to use, but pen and paper under a dim light could keep you from getting too awake.

I agree. The light from my iPod is blinding. Though the problem with this is that not every can have a dim light at night. I can't turn on any lights because it would wake up the other people in the room.

Not me, when sleepy, I could never use an ipod screen keyboard. Nothing beats a pen for me. The little bit of light from the screen, may also make it slightly harder to get back to sleep.

i like the good old fashion pen and paper, though i have become quite sloppy. I usually just scribble illegible words down in the dark, that remind me of the dream, falling asleep quickly after. I then awaken to the dream journal on my bedside, not being able to read my chicken scratch, over lapping, half assed, barely awake handwriting. If I can make out what the letters are, I usually barely remember dream because I only write words...I do remember them if they happened later in the night, if I wrote better, but only the very last dream gets the best treatment.\
Come to think of it, my dream journal has evolved into a slop, i spilled water on it and it soaked through the rest of the pages....but dried, fail handwriting, and I don't write dates anymore...I have gone off on a tangent.
I would fail writing on the IPod because the bright light, fail keyboard with anti-nimble half awake fingers, doesn't sound like a pleasant jot.
      +1 for physical journal

I usually do the exact same thing, erible. I have a sheet of looseleaf and a pencil or pen sitting on my beside table. When I wake up, I don't bother to turn the lights on or anything; I just scribble a line of writing down, then another, then another... Sometimes, because the lights are out, the lines overlap and my writing ends up ridiculously hard to read. x) I usually don't record the whole dream, maybe a slightly descriptive account of the beginning of the dream, then key points about the location or events in the later parts. I always remember the entire thing when I read the writing in the morning, though.

Ugh, an iPod dream journal. I used to keep all of my entries on my iPod, but I found it extremely ineffective. My iPod was freezing up so badly that I had to restore it, losing months worth of dreams recorded. Don't get me wrong, I love my iPod, but if you want to use it, bookmark your dream journal on DV in safari. I just access it from there. In fact, im on my iPod right now. (which is why everytime I write iPod it capitalizes the p).

haha i know right? I write like a 5 year old in my DJ usually, the overlapping is horrid xD
I need to start writing more than a few words, usually i can remember a bit if i write more than just a few words...then the dream starts coming to me later the day :]
