Remembering dreams I never recalled before?

I am not talking about recalling dreams from a night or even two weeks ago. I am starting to recall dreams that are months old and one that is even years old. It makes no sense, I never recalled these dreams before and just now I am starting to recall them? I never heard of this happening, its been happening all day dreams are starting to flood my mind.

How do I know they are old dreams if I never recalled them? It is much like a snail trail, you know a snail was there but the snail is no where in sight. That is the only way to describe it, like a key that fits into the lock to open the door. Has anyone else experienced this? I am just getting over whelmed by all these old dreams.

I know what you mean. Ever since I started attempting lucid dreaming, I've been getting remnants of past dreams from long times ago. I'm actually sort of glad. I would just sit back and enjoy the ride if I were you.
Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before.

Same with twisty. Since I started working on my recall, I noticed I could remember some dreams as a child. Some of them are nightmares, but others are ordinary dreams. Who knows, maybe they have some special meaning to you in order to have a place in your memory

You know, you guys might be right. I just found it odd and was wondering if anyone else experienced the same thing. I guess that answers my question.

Same here. Not only old dreams, but I start to recall other things from past- like how it looked in my kindergarden and stuff like that, and I'm loving it

I get this quite often as well. Most of the time, I get a feeling of deja vu with it. It's pretty neat, but I only remember fragments from those dreams.

Yeah, I have experienced this. Normally it occurs while in the dream state, where the memory of a dream that happened perhaps years ago suddenly comes to mind. However, it has occasionally happened while awake. My hope is one day to be able to harness lucid dreaming to probe back into the lost dreamworlds of my past.

Very cool, finally found people who are feeling like me I also have these "spontaneous dream recalls", which just pop in my head. Some of these dreams are very intricate and detailed, the story is otherworldly to the point of WTF?.

Before bed, I can "tune" my mind to "listen" to such dreams, and can usually recall a dozen or so before the rational mind takes over and tries to remember/analyze them. The recall is very quick.

Here's the thread where I described the experience in more detail: http://www.dreamviews.com/f45/sponta...dreams-114248/
