      REM dreamer training

Okay so I bought REM dreamer about three days ago, and I'm still waiting for it to clog my mail hatch... I feel like a child again!

I thought that I could as well start pre-training for the "red flash dream signal" (the REM dreamer basically detects REM dream phases and start flashing red color led lights against my closed eyes, while dreaming. I then, might recognize the flash as a fire truck or the whole dream scene flashes red) so my question is this...can I start pre-conditioning myself for the flashes.. Maybe I'll question my current reality every time I see something red? Is it even possible to pre condition myself if I haven't yet seen what the flashes appear like? Is there any other stuff too that I could start practicing with in advance?

food for thought! And a big thanks for replies in advance

i have no experience with this but if i was you i would just reality check and question if you are dreaming or not everytime you see something that you think could be the rem dreamer.
how much did it cost you?
and is there any brand or anything you would recomend?
      im thinking of getting one

Hello Qwer well, along with the REM dreamer...there's the famous nova dreamer which preceded the lucid dream mask which I bought... nova dreamer cost somewhere around 800-1000$ (high price because 1: it was designed by the famous LaBerge and 2: nova dreamer had no rivals at that time,I think.) nova dreamer is not in production anymore... And the only chances of getting one is by second hand from Ebay or Amazon...

The REM dreamer is a polish made version of nova dreamer... also it costs only 147€ new... And for the people living inside EU I wouldn't recommend anything else but it, due to the simplicity of paying inside European union, with a regular IBAN or Paypal bank transfer.

Also the REM dreamer has neat features which nova dreamer didn't... "Two way control" (or something like that) allows the user to shut the flash alarm from inside a dream, when the user realizes he/she is dreaming.

The REM dreamer doesn't guarantee a lucid dream every night, and requires some getting used to and fine running (don't buy if you sleep on you're stomach), but it gives a constant and somewhat clear dream sign every night

There is also the possibility to use ones smart phone and/or PC to induce lucid dream signs...

this is REM dreamers website: REM-Dreamer - Lucid Dream Induction Device*

Here's a nice review about it: My REM Dreamer (Part 1) - Blog | Lucidipedia.com

In my opinion.. It's an advancement built over already working concept

I wrote this post on my phone! xD

start flashing red color led lights against my closed eyes, while dreaming. I then, might recognize the flash as a fire truck or the whole dream scene flashes red
If this happens with your device, then you might be able to get acquainted with the appearance simply by using a bright light near your eyes, or even turning your head (with eyes closed) towards the sun and then away to a dark scene. A bright light source will cause the same appearance of red, and because of the thoughts you are linking to the sensation, may help you get used to it or become familiar with what to look for.

Perhaps time to take a blanket to the park and just relax in the sun for a while?

Heh, there's still a world of snow outside, so visiting the park is out of the question...

I guess I have to wait for the REM dreamer to arrive and see how my mind reacts to the stimulus.

You can still go outside and use the sun with closed eyes...or a bright lamp.

Hope it arrives soon! Post a pic when it does.

I got the REM dreamer yesterday and was so hyped about it that I didn't have time to post about it!

And wow! I got my first lucid (since childhood) the very next night. (I used to have constant lucid dreams as a child, naturally) I noticed the flashes from inside the dream... And as soon as I noticed the REM dreamer, I realized my dream eyes were closed... I managed to remain calm and opened my dream eyes slowly, I saw myself standing in the middle of the dark bedroom (about to collapse?). Tried to lift my leg to walk forward, but it was difficult... I felt like I was drunk! soon after that I woke up... Or I think I did.. Forgot to make a RC *facepalm!*

While dreaming... I also had other type of cues from the REM dreamer... I found myself wearing the mask everywhere, but I somehow ignored those dream signs.

all in all, the mask does need some getting used to, but not much (to me at least). But I'm really satisfied with it!
