Just a tip I've been using.

For a while it was difficult for me to write my dreams down. I was using a notebook like most people. Problem was, the notebook was waay too big to fit on the desk that's next to my bed. So I have to put it under my bed. When I would wake up I'd try to remember details about my dreams, etc. And would reach under my bed to grab my notebook and jot some notes down. Problem was, by the time I reached down to get it, two things usually happened. For one thing, I often forgot many of my details or might forget the dream completely! Second, this action often woke me up so much I couldn't get back to sleep. I often wake up before I have to, jot a dream down, then go back to sleep. But I just couldn't. I found the solution one day by random. I realized I could just set a stack of notecards on my desk and a pencil near them. This has worked wonders for me!

Good advice I think it is also important to have a dream journal that you love. You should see it sitting on the end table, and want to pick it up because it is so attractive. You should want to read through it and write in it.

My desk is right next to my bed. I can reach and grab it right above the headboard easily.

Dictaphone! Genius! Ah, you see, because in the morning I just can't work up the motivation to write anything down. Can't move my hands enough to actually write anything. Although, the times when I do write anything down it's almost always bordering on illegible haha. I simply MUST purchase a dictaphone!

Modern dictaphones have function to activate themselves when user starts talking and turn off when (s)he stops. I.e. if you are extremly lazy to move after waking up you need just to tell dream and go back to sleep.

Wow! That's a really cool feature. That would help my dream recording a LOT, because when I wake up I remember most of my dream, but as time goes on it fades. So, by the time I've woken up a bit more and am in a fit state to write, I've often forgotten most of the interesting details of my dreams

Yah I have a Sony micro-cassette recorder on my nightstand and I also just have a piece of paper and a pen next to my bed so I can choose to either jot down some notes or just talk into a mic depending on how I feel.
