I have two dogs, Scooby and Phoebe. They're my babies, I love them so much.
Scooby's a black labredor, and is 7 years old. He's really timid and quiet. He never makes any noise, unless you tell him he's going out a walk, he starts making whiney noises. He loves to eat (honestly he's a dustbin) and I sometimes walk in to find his nose in Phoebe's food bowl. When he was a pup he used to knock the bin over and eat leftover food, but he doesn't do that anymore. He loves sneaking up on rabbits. When he sees one he freezes, and for about 10 minutes he'll slowly take a step toward it, head down low. When he's close enough he'll make a run for it but never catches any.
He also loves people and other dogs. He get really excited when he sees someone, he wags his tail so much his bum starts to wiggle and he makes little hops on his front paws. He has a thing for sunbathing. His fur is starting to go brown because he's been lying in the sun. But the silly boy that he is he gets too hot and has to move to the shade. He's just had an operation on his front paws because two bits of bone were rubbing against eachother. He was struggling to walk properly for a bit but now he's back to his usual self, though I think his running days are over.. He adores swimming though so we take him to the nearest loch quite often.
He can get quite clingy. He doesn't like going upstairs, but if I go upstairs he'll wait at the bottom until I come down. Then he'll wiggle his bum, lie down and fall asleep on me. My dad sometimes comes down to find me and Scooby asleep together in his bed. Usually with his head on my lap. He's a big softie.
Phoebe is 4 years old and she's a liver and white springer spanial. She's a petite wee thing, quite small boned and not very tall. She's quite long though. We didn't dock her tail because she's learned to keep it out the way when she's running. She's not very social. If she sees another dog she usually just stays away, except for Scooby. She's grown up with Scooby so he's her best friend.
She owns the house. She's a right princess. She always manages to get her own way somehow. She likes her comfort, and you'll regularly walk into a room to find her sprawled out on the bed. When she can't get on a bed, she usually jumps on the sofa in the conservatory. She's really picky with food too.
People usually get the wrong impression when they see her. Usually she'll be laid back, cute little eyes (with a hint of "I own you" in them), little face, cute wee thing, and then you take her out a walk and she'll dig down a hole and come out black. Or she'll catch a rabbit (she's really fast) and bound up to you with it in her mouth. She doesn't kill them but poor little things probably die from shock Then when she gets into the house she goes back into princess mode and spends ages licking herself clean.
She's not very social. She likes me, Scooby, the rest of the family but she doesn't like other dogs or people. She just shies away from them. She's small but when she's scared she's been known to stand up to a Great Dane. She was a bit of a bully when she was a pup. Scooby's quiet so she made a habit of biting his ears. But we taught her to stop that. When they're playing she still nips at them occasionally though.
Sometimes you walk into the bathroom to find her lying on the rug. Which means she's thirsty. She doesn't like drinking out of her bowl so we put the tap on for her instead and she'll jump up and drink from it. Then she takes a mad turn and rolls around on my dads bedroom rug to dry her mouth. She also likes to be picked up and taken to the upstairs window at the front of the house, because next door has cats and she likes to see if there are any out there. She caught the cat once and damn near killed it. But not quite, it got away. So we take care that she doesn't go out front now.
She also likes to paw my face when she can't be bothered with me. Thanks Phoebe.
I love my babies
