      Anybody else like "Peanuts"?

The last few months I've had a bit of an obsession with Peanuts. I've seen all 4 movies, every episode of the Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show, and have seen many of the tv specials. Also, I recently finished reading every single Peanuts comic strip in order on GoComics.com.

Anyway, while I was reading them, I picked my favorite from each year. I can't post 51 pictures in one post though so I'll show my favorite from each decade here for fun.

Pardon the pun, but my mother is quite nuts over Peanuts.

It's almost religious - we have to watch any holiday specials on the holiday it represents.

Yup! I grew up on Peanuts holiday specials as well! I could sympathize with Charlie Brown and often felt like him. And Snoopy is the ultimate pal!

Marcie is my favorite. She's sort of dimwitted but is also very friendly and sticks up for herself.

The first picture below was the first strip she ever appeared in.

Online, I ordered on dvd 1970's Peanuts collection volume 1. So, I'll be able to see a few more tv specials that aren't on you tube. "You're in Love, Charlie Brown", "It's the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown", and "You're not Elected, Charlie Brown". Speaking of elections...

My mother lived in the US before I was born, and she brought back two Peanuts comic books: the very first year 1951, and 1953 also. Those I "read" before I could read and, having grown up with them, they stand as the "definition" of Peanuts for me. I really like those early strips; they give me a nice comfortable feeling. But the later drawing style (I guess from the 1970's onwards) doesn't appeal so much to me.

As a young kid I had a crush on Violet ... until she changed her hair-do.

I just remembered: the penultimate strip hit me rather deep - must have been the only time a comic strip moistened my eyes ...

So ... is this the real universe, or is it just a preliminary study?

I like the early strips with Lucy. She looked sort of creepy at first and her character developed really early on.

I love Peanuts. Charlie Brown and Snoopy made a guest appearance in one of my LDs. They were two dimensional. Charlie called me daddy and hugged my legs.
      Total LDs (some very brief) = 2004: 4 * 2005: 18 * 2006: 16 * 2007: 2 * 2008: 0 * 2009: 0 * 2010: 1 * 2011: 12 * 2012: 3 * 2013: 1 * 2014: 6 * 2015: 1 * 2016: 0 * 2017: 18 * 2018: 3 * 2019: 0 (so far)
