Very sad ending, though. |

"Life is much like a barren road. You can choose to leave it and end up in a deserted wasteland, or you can follow the road to see what is beyond the horizon."
I saw it very recently, and fell in love with it. Can't get enough of how good it was. |

I'm surprised there isn't already a thread about Donnie Darko here since it is sorta older. There might be, I dunno I'm too lazy to search. But yeah, this movie is pretty awesome. |

Yup, It stands out alright. |

I love that film! It's well amazing, although can someone explain the ending a bit more to me in a private message or something? I don't fully understand it myself, like Jmp. Here's what I think it is, in white text. |

Perfect choice of actor for Donnie. I loved the little bits that made you stop and think (Cellar Door, for example, which I still have yet to fathom at all ). |
|
Yup. Awesome movie. |

Yeah...I agree with everyone...incredible movie..can't say I understood it all but my did I enjoy it...creepy as hell, but that in addition to other things was what made it so intriguing and unique. |

It's not just the ending that needs explaining, it's the whole movie. It's all based on the (fictional) book by Roberta Sparrows (the crazy lady), the Philosophy of Time Travel. It's about a tangent universe, some sort of spin-off universe that has to be destroyed within 28 days or it will colapse and take the primary universe down with it. It involves weird terms like the Living Receiver, the Manipulated Dead and the Artifact and is actually stranger than the movie itself |

I haven't seen it yet, but supposedly there's pages from the book in between scenes, so this might explain the story a bit. Some scenes are longer or changed. You can also see the future in Donnie's eyes and some of the songs are switched around (This last one scares me a bit; a Donnie Darko that doesn't start with Killing Moon? The horror!). |

I watched it on shrooms made me rethink the way I was looking at life. The Movie is one of the best I have ever seen especially with all of the underlying meanings that are inbedded within. |
