I'm thinking of waiting a week or two before I go to the IMAX cause I really don't like crowds.

I'm waiting for the cheap movie day on Monday, when there should still be a crowd but no line. I will be avoiding all Watchmen-related information until that time. I've even put off a re-read of the graphic novel until after the movie (it's been close to ten years).

Amazing. I really liked it. A nice blend of action, gore, story, and all around badassery.

Solid 9 out of 10 in my book.

That being said, it was DANK.

WOW were do I begin with this movie without spoiling it? Ok I think this movie was terrific but its not like anything I've ever seen. It was a deep thought provoking story that shattered my expectations, along with other nice surprises (youll know what I mean)

Now I have never read the original comic books so I do not know how accurate the plot is, but it was dam good. Every character was so well developed. Having said that, it was rather long; 3 hours to be exact so be prepared for its epicness.

Oh and the most awesome character; Dr. Manhattan was indeed, awesome plus some twists

      9/10

Okay just got back from seeing this (IMAX, woot!) and really really liked it. The only problem I had was the length of the movie - way too long for my neck to be crooked at the screen like that, but whatever.

I really want to read the graphic novel now. I've never read a graphic novel before, sooo.. this might be a good one to start with?

I definitely loved Dr. Manhattan, especially in all his naked glory, but I think my fav character was Adrian (sp?)... I'm not sure what his superhero name is... The guy who's the smartest human on earth?

Does anyone know how they did the character of Dr. Manhattan...? Is it the same sort of thing they use for Gollum and Beowulf and stuff? (Yeah uhh can't think of the name.. )

Rorschach gave me a new favorite quote. Or the writers, rather.

      Good though, a solid 8/10.

Rorschach and Adrian had to be my favorites.

Definitely. The only problem would be the lack of novels that are as good as Watchmen, so you'd get your standards set kinda high.

This has given me an idea to make a thread listing the essential comic books to read. JOB DONE!!!

"As well as playing Osterman in flashback as a human, for his post-accident scenes as Dr. Manhattan, Crudup is replaced in the film with a motion-capture CG version of himself. During filming, Crudup acted opposite his co-stars, wearing a white suit covered in blue LEDs, so he would give off an otherworldly glow in real life, just as the computer-generated Manhattan does in the movie. Crudup had to keep thinking of the character in the comic, because he felt ridiculous in the suit.[7] Crudup deemed it fortunate he did not have to wear prosthetics or fit into a rubber costume like the other actors though, and would remind them of this when they made jokes about his appearance.[6] Snyder chose not to electronically alter Crudup's voice for Manhattan, explaining the character "would try and put everyone as much at ease as he could, instead of having a robotic voice that I think would feel off-putting"."

Rordschach was my favorite. I'm drawn to the good guys, especially those who stay good guys.
