      The Happening

This thread was created for two purposes.

      1. To inform readers not to read a review, watch a trailer, or listen to a single comment about the movie

      2. To inform readers to go see it.

      Don't discuss.

EDIT: Okay, there are a few things I'll say about it

It's better than 6th sense and unbreakable

It has the same feel to it as Cloverfield

      It's rated R for a reason

It's not really rewatchable, like everything M Night Shamalababasdnwbc makes, it also sucks if you know what's going on (like 6th sense)

So the less you know, the better.

Honestly, I found it more of a comedy movie. Its one of those movies that are alot better when you watch it with a group of people as opposed to by yourself. It was still pretty good though, and was left open for a sequal.

Honestly, I'm watching it as we speak. It's.. fucking retarded. But the worst part about it is the acting. It's really bad. Especially the woman who plays Elliot's wife.

I'll come back after I'm finished. I'm about 2/5 of the way through.

Edit #1: I noticed something odd. Mark Whalberg's acting is horrendous, yet in one scene, a minor character he is talking to does an outstanding job. It's quite annoying.

Edit #2: I just watched the small part where a man lets a lion rip off his arms. Have you ever seen "Monthy Python and the Holy Grail"? If you have, imagine the part where the black knight and the main character are fighting, and he casually chops his arm off, causing it to squirt out really bright, fake looking blood. It looked like that. All this, while being narrated by a woman who lacked any kind of acting ability.

Final Edit: I stopped watching. It's 4 in the morning and I don't feel like watching this piece of shit anymore. Seriously, it wasn't worth my time. Looked up a spoiler for it, and from what I read, the plot didn't go anywhere. What a waste of an hour.

      Never heard of it.

http://www.watch-movies.net/movies/grindhouse/ is better just because of the ending. But the ending is valueless if you don't watch the entire thing.

Actually, the only good part is some of the deaths. A few of em are neat. For that reason, it would probably blow even harder on Cable Television.

Watch it with OTHER PEOPLE. Trust me, It'll be much more enjoyable.. and stop watching it online or downloading it... its not going to be that great that way. Some movies have to be watched a certain way, and with groups of people... this is one of the ones that is like that.

Its not bad at all.. its just not a scary or suspensful movie. It was designed as more of a comedy anyway.

I actually just watched one of his movies a few days ago. The mist. I thought it was a good movie. Isn't this guy directing the live action Avatar, the last Airbender movie?

      zoey deschanel? She's good

but I think i'm done going to see MNS movies. Signs and the sixth sense were the only good ones.
I lost all respect after the village and lady in the water

the only "R rated" parts were a few gory things here and there that lasted only a few seconds, but overall I don't think it was any worse that I Am Legend. (although that one was pretty violent. Maybe i'm just so used to seeing all the crap out there like everyone else that it doesn't seem that bad even though it is )

Yeah, M. Night had NOTHING to do with the Mist. Just so you know, "The Mist" is a short story by Stephen King, an excellent author. And the director was Frank Darabont. M. Night is done making good movies apparently. After Lady in the Water, I thought Happening wouldn't be that bad.

And to Kreature, who said you have to watch it with friends, or watch it in the theater... No. I would've walked out. I watched it on my HD monitor, and the only difference between the online version and the theater vision was of course, surround sound, and the color was duller than theater would provide. But it was a horrible film. You don't need to make excuses for the movie.

I think I read the script for that movie almost 2 years ago, and no one was buying it. Hopefully he's changed it since then.

      You'll hate it.

Unbreakable MEGAPWNS 6th Sense, if we can't agree on that, then there is absolutely no reason for us to co-exist.

Also if you didn't like Cloverfield.

I'm sorry, not the Mist, I meant Signs. I just watched it for the first time a few hours ago. I just watched the Mist a few days ago and I can't get it out of my head.
As for my question, forget it. Just found it. He is directing the live action Avatar movie. So after reading everything I've read, I'm hoping he doesn't fuck it over.

God, you have horrifying taste in movies. What was the point of The Happening? The movie should NOT exist. Honestly, I will totally listen to what you have to say about it and consider it. I'm really curious to know.
