Funny Games: A truly twisted story about home invasion. It kept me on the edge of my seat.

The Great Debaters: A Denzel Washington film.. truly inspirational and based on true story!

      Gran Torino

This movie was great I would recommend it 100% as long as you don't mind violence and every other word being F**K

That just reminded me about this movie. I'm planning on renting it tomorrow and watching it. I hope I like it. I'm into anything that will put me on the edge of my seat.

I guess I won't bother with the DVD either then. It's too bad, how can they mess up a movie about people with mind powers so badly. It should have been an awesome movie.

Going to go see Friday The 13th tomorrow.

I'm hoping they went all out to make this one as brutal, wicked, and intense as possible. And with any luck, Jason will come into my dreams and scare me into lucidity.

It's been a long time since I've had a good Jason dream.

Unfortunately, I haven't heard too many good things about it. Of course, I take all others' reviews with a grain of salt, but the majority of opinions I've heard on it seem to be in the negative.

Taken: A bit cheesy at parts, but it was a great action movie. I would recommend it.

Smart People: Nothing that special. It was kind of slow, but it kept my attention anyway. I was hoping it would be funnier.

Yeah, I figured it would probably be like that. Not a lot of people are going to say good things about a movie like that. I figure at worst, it will be just OK. I bet a lot of people watching this one don't even hardly remember the old ones, if they saw them at all. I recently watched the first three. And man were they ever cheesy. Movies can't get much worse than that. It's hard to believe those movies actually scared me back then. Compared to those old ones, this new one should be damn good.

I seem to be one of the only people that loved 30 Days Of night. That was my second favorite movie of that year. So, I'm just going to have to see for myself.

Yeah, that's pretty much all I'm expecting, too. I'm willing to give it a pardon, because I'd like to see them do more with Jason. If it's decent, I'll enjoy it enough. I'm not quite looking for anything award-winning.

I haven't seen 30 Days of Night, yet. I'll have to check that out.

And HO-LEE SHIT, The Rocketeer is just now coming on the Hallmark Channel. Hahaha. I used to LOVE this movie.

[Edit]And I didn't know Jennifer Connelly played Jenny.
      Gorgeous, as usual.

      Friday The 13

Not quite as intense as I was hoping for. But what can I say? Being a fan of the series I definitely enjoyed it. Jason was bad ass. And over all, it has everything you can really ask for from a Friday The 13th movie. Pot smoking partying teens. Plenty of nude females. And of course, Jason hacking them all up. And the way it ended, they left room for more to come. They did have a perfect opportunity to get rid of Jason once and for all, but they chose not to. so.....

And the theater was having a special 11:00am showing, and they only charged me five bucks for it. And I get out of the movie early enough to still enjoy a full day off. So I'm happy with the whole experience.

      Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed

      This movie was absolute shit.

Ben Stein makes his only argument with obvious out of context edits, ad hominem attacks, and ignoring the mountains of evidence for evolution.
He claims that the few missing bits are proof not only that Darwinian Evolution is 100% false but that because of the missing bits of proof for Evolution that Intelligent Design is automatically correct.
He never once puts forth any proof or even an argument towards proving I.D. He mocks the "science" of evolution without showing any science behind I.D.

I came into this with an open mind, hoping to get more insight on what Intelligent Design was really all about and all I got was an hour and a half of attacks on atheism.

      Skip it.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

I wouldn't have bothered going to the theater to see this if I were in the states, but the limited choices of American movies we have here in Korea kind of changes things.

And I LOVED this movie. It was too long, and as I was watching it I wasn't head-over-heals impressed, but after leaving the theater I could NOT get it out of my head.

That movie's amazing. Part of it has to do with the hauntingly beautiful soundtrack, I think.

Yeah. Total win. And the make-up artist for that movie needs to win an Oscar.

Aye but most of it isn't make up. If I'm not mistaken Brad Pitt isn't actually on screen for the first hour of the movie.

I watched two very different films today:

Zoolander - Hilarious, definitely one of the best Ben Stiller comedies I've seen. Magnum was a thing of beauty. Also, "You can derelick my balls."

The Silence of the Lambs - Another great film. I came to the conclusion at the end of the film that Dr. Lector was actually something of a hero, and an incredibly engaging character. He reminded me very much of Heath Ledger's Joker, but (dare I say it?) better.

      [EDIT]

I just watched literally the best film ever. Hot Rod. It is so goddamn amazing. Everyone needs to go and watch this film it's so good!

Hot Rod definitely gets the Goldney Seal of Approval!

Yes true! But the make-up on the real Brad Pitt is incredible as well, especially toward the end of the film.

Really? I couldn't get over the fact that nothing really happens in the movie. Especially since it kept reminding me of the fact over the course of 3 hours. The short story it was based on didn't offer enough material for a movie, in my opinion; especially not one so long. I enjoyed it but I would have rather rented.

The last movie I saw in theaters was Gran Torino. The kids weren't terribly good at acting, but thankfully Clint Eastwood is capable of carrying an entire movie on his shoulders alone, so I ended up really enjoying it anyway.

I sincerely thought (and hoped) that Jason X had to be the last of this series. Then I thought they can't possibly come back with another one after Freddie vs. Jason. Of course I was dissapointed again. Horror is by far my favorite genre but I have never liked slasher movies at all. It always seemed that they were an attempt at throwing a bunch of money at the grindhouse concept which to me makes it lose all the flavor.

I'm glad I had seen Curious Case of Benjamin Button when it came out. It was great, and it made me really sad. I love a movie that can emotionally move me.

The "I've been struck by lightning 7 times" thing was the absolute shit. I couldn't stop laughing.
