i think this whole mosque thing is a distraction. of course the president is gonna says they have a constitutional right to build a mosque, what else can he do? but hey the troops are withdrawing from iraq and we are itching for war with iran so we need something to talk about until those dirty iranians screw up and "force" us into war....wow, we are fucked.

This is just heart-breaking at the misinformation!

1) It is not a mosque, it's an Islamic Community Centre.
2) There are already mosques 5 or so blocks away from Ground Zero.
3) We are not at war with Islam.
4) THE BILL OF RIGHTS. Read the Constitution. George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, (not Christians) are probably wiping tears from their eyes right now.
5) It's not at Ground Zero, it's two blocks away.

This is just... too much.

What can you do?

You can start by not giving in to the hate that they are trying to manipulate from you.

Eventually they are trying to get public support for going to war with Iran.

Don't fall for it a second time.

Iran may be Muslim, but they are not evil.

They don't want anything to do with us, they don't want to hurt us.

They may want to hurt Israel, but I don't think they will dare.

If they do, it shouldn't be any of our business. Israel is not any better than they are.

Israel has done nothing for us, so why should we defend them? They have nuclear weapons already anyway, and have used WMD on Muslims more than once already.

The U.S.A. will want to go to war with Iran because they have the most petroleum besides Saudi Arabia.

Don't forget some of the world's largest Lithium and rare metal deposits. Lithium is used in our inexpensive LCD TVs and computer chips. Becoming more rare and precious as we dispose of our electronics improperly.

There's another reason, we love us some technology.

It isn't that we actually want their oil, to like burn or anything like that. We don't need their oil, and we probably wont use much of it. We invaded iraq, and we didn't take any of that oil and we don't really get much from that country.

It has more to do with trying to prop up the US dollar, and make us appear like a super power, so no one will call us on the fact that our country is currently bankrupt. Oil is an important resource and its mostly traded with dollars. When countries notice that dollars are worthless and decide they are going to trade using something else, then everyone starts dumping the US dollar. Of course even if we are bankrupt we still have a big army, so we swing that around to force people to take dollars, even if they don't want them.

Eventually the dollar is going to implode, or we are going to have to pay off our debt. Since the debt is increasing faster now than ever, I highly doubt that will happen.

True, a big reason is that U.S. kept the mid-east oil propping up the U.S. dollar, rather than the Euro.

a war with iran , in my never so humble opinion, would give us an 80% chance of world war 3. russia and china would probably side with iran. only our army is built up in comparison of iran, china, and russia. and our military is strung out all over the world. our possible allies have weak military. hmm, once the nukes start flying its hard to say what would happen. ultimately, they will do away with 80% of the worlds population somehow.

As President, he has to stand up for the Constitution. He also couldn't say no comment on an issue this large, so he was forced to say that Muslims have the legal right. It's pretty simple, if it wasn't for Fox the whole thing would have blown over by now.

Muslims have a right to build mosques wherever other religious building are being allowed. Stop attributing the actions of 20-odd people to millions. Why should Muslims surrender their right to religious freedom because it offends you?

I've actually changed my stance on the issue. They have had the plot for a super long time, even before 9/11.

Who is they? i don't deny that radical Muslims may have been plotting against the US for decades or centuries or however long you say, but it isn't fair to group them with the moderate Muslims living in the US who love American government and culture. Sharing the same religion doesn't make them the same people.
