Exclamation Can someone please help me ??? - i've been advised to move my post to here.

      So Hi Everyone ,
I originally posted this in the Newbie section another member thought I'd get more answers in this section, anything you guys think i'd be interested to know.

      I've had a reoccurring dream since I was 6 years old I am now 16. Let me explain ;

      when I was 6:
I had a dream that a boy came into my garden while I was on my swing. I didn't know who he was however he looked very similar to my step brother and cousin. He was about 7 .I asked him who he was he told me his name was James and he was my older brother. It is important to remember I do not have an older brother. He then told me everything would be ok and disappeared.

      When I was 8:
I over heard my mother having a convosation with a friend. I found out that she had misscarried before having me. A Still birth , a little boy who she was going to call James. I didn't know anything of this untill now. However the details fit my dream perfectly. The boy i met told me he was my brother. He was older than me by about a year at least and his name was James.

      When I was 11:
I had a dream that I was starting secondary school. I met a lot of new people, at lunchtime, a boy kicked a football at me and when I look to see who it was , It was the same boy who was in my dream when I was 6. Same as before only this time he was about 13, he asked if I remembered him, that his name was James and that he was my brother. He told me everything was ok and disappeared.

      When I was 15:
I had another dream about going to prom as I was leaving school. I was getting ready and was nervous before my date arrived. I turned around and he was there again, he told me i looked beautiful and that he will not let me forget him. again he was older than me and was about 17. he then took my hand walked me downstairs told me everything would be ok and disappeared.

      Last night, 16 years old:
I had a dream that I was learning to drive . a guy jumped out in front of me, i stopped in time and he wasn't hurt but he looked up. Again in was James. older again about 18 this time. i got out the car panicked and he put his arm around me (first physical contact) and told me everything would be ok , then he disappeared.

So i was wondering if anyone could help me . How could i dream about a sibling i wasn't a wear of and why do i keep having these dreams? notice how they've got closer together. I'm not really spiritual but im open to any sort of advice ?

      thanks everyone xx

I think you probably posted in the right place the first time. Any way, the simplest answer is you had heard of him before you were 6 but you just forgot. Then they are just random dreams. You can have up to 7 dreams a night, and you dream every night. So in that time period between 6 and 16 you likely had something around 3650 dreams. So 5 dreams isn't a big deal. Though it is possible you had others dreams about the subject and forgot them.

People also kind of fill in the blanks during dreams, so the person you dreamed of could of looked vastly different each time, and it is unlikely you would notice that they are different people, if they used the same name. As for the reason they are getting close, it may be that you are getting better at remember dreams, and you have been having them the same amount but just remember them better now.

James is a p. common name. The first dream could be mere coincidence. When you found out about the still-birth at age 8, it may have had a lasting impression on you, prompting sequential dreams.

Or you could repost this in Beyond Dreaming and have people tell you it's supernatural. Whichever floats your boat.

I tend to agree - parents commonly talk in front of very young children assuming they're too young to understand, but there's no telling what a young child can retain and remember, even if they don't really understand it.

Sorry if I advised her poorly on where to move this thread. It was just a suggestion because I wanted her post to get the attention from members that know more about that kinda stuff.

Hope she gets good advice here though! The dreams are very interesting, but I can see how they could be a little disturbing too, especially since they are so recurring.

Yeah, I saw in the original thread you were suggesting one of the ED subforums like maybe Inner Sanctum. I don't know where would be the best place - I guess it depends on what the OP wants from it. Could be Dream Interpretation, Beyond Dreaming, maybe the Help forum? Personally I couldn't think of anyplace in particular, so this seems like as good a place as any. Better than the Newbie Forum anyway, so good call on that one! If it starts to take a particular direction later then it can be moved to the appropriate forum. I'll keep an eye on it.

      Thanks Darkmatters.

I admit, there are alot of new sub-forums around here these days. I'm still trying to get my footing around here, I can image it would be even more overwhelming for newbies. At any rate, thanks for taking care of her.

Most importantly don't let your dreams worry you. I have mediumistic abilities and I would say that it is extremely unlikely that this is a spiritual experience. As has been pointed out this probably was discussed by one or both of your parents when you were a lot younger and you are unable to remember what was said. I was my mother's first born but I didn't find out until my twenties that she had a miscarriage before she had me. You may have subconsciously been feeling empathy for your parents and the elder brother that was stillborn and the inevitable suffering that has been experienced in your family. We all have a deep hidden guilt for not saving our other family members from suffering. I know this to be true because I had problems with my family and I couldn't understand why. I didn't believe hidden guilt was the key but when I worked on it under the guidance of an excellent psychologist it was there and I worked through it. This is I believe what you are experiencing and because you never met your brother your guilt is releasing itself in your dreams rather than consciously in your waking life.
