Self-fulfilling prophecy. That's a very stupid reason to cast aside the right to representation.

Consider that Ross Perot quit the election half way through and rejoined near the end. And he still got almost 20%.

It is not even a self-fulfilling prophecy. There are not even enough people who want a third party candidate to win to come close to matching the number of people who want Republicrats to win. I don't want it that way, but it is in fact that way. Is it not?

Edit: I don't think the third party candidates should not have the right to be on the ballot. I just think they are worthless. Sad but true.

Worthless? Hardly. I guarantee if, for example, the media payed more attention to Ron Paul and gave him the same amount of coverage as they did with others (Obama for example), he would have been a serious competitor.

During election season, each network should make an attempt to give each candidate equal air time. This will never happen, but we can dream.

At least not for a long time. I don't think the Republicrats will be in power forever. We have had other major political parties, like the Whig Party, but it has been a while.

I think Monroe was the last Whig? I don't remember.

Millard Fillmore. I just Googled it and saw that the party lost its high level of power in 1856. Maybe in another century and a half we can have a president who doesn't suck.

Exactly why I called it a two party system.
This was that cult, and the prisoners said it had always existed and always would exist, hidden in distant wastes and dark places all over the world until the time when the great priest Cthulhu, from his dark house in the mighty city of R'lyeh under the waters, should rise and bring the earth again beneath his sway.

Even though the Whigs were government loving pricks. I could count the few presidents that did not suck on my fingers
