But you did mention 2012 being a year of significance, related to a cycle of 26k years. I explained that assertion is false.

We are actually aligned with the center of the galaxy for a much longer period than a day. The Mayans absolutely recognize this. The Mayans believe in a transition period.

The concept of alignment doesn't even make sense when we're dealing with two points. Two points are always in alignment, we're always aligned with the galactic core.

The effect on mankind has nothing to do with some sort of physical effect from the physical precession. That is not what the Mayans are teaching. The effect on mankind is spiritual. This is the message of the Mayans. They believe spiritual evolutionary leaps happen accordingly to these cycles. Why? Because they believe in cycles. They believe cycles are natural. They believe spiritual evolutionary leaps happen in natural cycles, as natural of the cycle of the moon onto a womans body.

In other words, magic?

I really like what you're saying.... I specially agree with how modern life isn't very fullfilling... If it was, there wouldn't be so much drug and alcohol addiction, suicides and young kids getting lost even before they start living...

I'm one of those people who look forward on something happening... It might make us open our eyes a bit...

Mayans seem to know a LOT, even things that are already written by them that scientifics of these days are barely finding out for themselves... And Mayans believe that everytime their calendar goes back to 0's something big comes with it... Life as we know changes.... I guess the only way of really knowing is to wait! Well, maybe staff did see it... I'm sure of it and they still thought it fits here.... How did Nostradamus get all this insight about the future... for hundreds of years they've said that his prophecies were believe to have come true..., Mayans and all the cultures mentioned were very spiritual people who were probably very much in contact with "higher beings" "spiritual guides" and what not... How would these people predict from so many years ago the 3 eclipses that are suppose to happend in 2012?? If they didn't have the tools that modern man has?? You see Delphinus that's why I posted here, These people were clearly connected to some really serious and powerfull spiritual stuff... or at least that's how I see it.... In all fairness Nina, - Y2K had little merit to it. It had to do with computer chips interpreting the year 2000 as '00 and therefore everything reseting. Some things DID go bonkers in 2000, but not on a massive global scale as we expected.

Computer technology is very young and is very much still in its infant stages. The Mayan civilization (2000 BC to 250 AD) was a thriving one in which the people were very well known for their art, architecture, and mathematical and (arguably better than our own) astronomical systems. They accurately predicted eclipses, they knew planets where spherical (not flat) amongst a myriad of other unexplainable things they knew thousands of years ago that our own sciences only confirmed maybe a hundred to a few hundred years ago.

Taking into account their advanced calendars, their systems of keeping time based on the movement of celestial bodies, and their track record of accuracy - I think it's pretty ignorant for people to say "Nothing will happen". On the flip side, I think it's also pretty ignorant for people to say "This and this will happen" when the ONLY thing the Mayans said regarding 2012 was that our current world (meaning age, not Earth) as we know it would end.

My thoughts on the whole thing? Don't be so gullible and jump to laughable conclusions that spur you into building an underground bunker. And don't think any "one" person has everything figured out. Remember that a lot of the Mayan writings were senselessly burned and destroyed by those fucktard Christians lead by Cortez. My attitude is wait and see.

I have no idea what's going to happen, but I would be not so smart to claim that I do know.

To be honest, if there was a real threat, wouldn't we of worked it out by now?

Eeh just prepare your self spiritualy for the jump , in my case I don't care if their is cataclisms I'll handle them if they happen ( I don't believe their will be anyways )

well, about the second part of your post, They say due to the planetary alignment with the milkyway on 2012 their might be some weird stuff happening, specially from the sun,,, (I can't think of the right term right now), If scientist already now about all this or anything else coming, SPECIALLY if its still a couple of years ahead!, they would refrain from telling the people.... can you imagine the caos that would bring??? If they actually told people their 'could' be a major catastrofe?? or if they had confirmed it?? I'm Not referring to any goverment conspiracy or any mulder and scully theories, NOR I'm saying some catastrofe IS indeed happening... all I'm saying is even if they knew about it, they wouldn't choose to tell us until the las moment I think...

Christianity really is the reason why we are behind in science and technology today, it was them who destroyed the science and burned everything from what we knew back then thousands of years ago (from what i have heard) . Just imagine what today's world would be like if they left it alone? Religion is the root of all evil.
