      Trigger a "strange" dream?

I've heard people say that if you eat spicy food before sleep, you'll end up having strange dreams. I've also heard that whenever you're on medication it can have an effect on your dreams.

I'm not sure about all of that, but I do know that in the past I have had some pretty odd dreams, and they are always fun to analyze. This is not so much a lucid question, as in my opinion, for a dream to be as strange as I'm talking, you'd have know control and assume that it's real.

So my question is, does anyone know if there is anyway to trigger a dream one would consider "strange"? I know that's a pretty vauge question, as the word can be defined differently by everyone, but I'd like to hear anything anyone has to say on the subject.
Crazy, but that's how it goes!

Tricky question. Watching many strange movies or playing many strange video games potentially could result in strange dreams.
I don't know of any substances to increase dream abnormality. I eat spices all the time, even before bed, but it never resulted in an unusually odd dream. Vitamin B6 increases vividness, so there is a possibility that it could assist in increasing strangeness...
That's all I have. This is a tough question.
I don't usually think, therefore I mostly am not.

Likewise, you cant teach some one who looks for facts to have faith in the absence of facts.
