      I will ask the question...

People are always looking for answers when they begin to suspect there is more. They grow and their worlds grow with them.

While you search for answers though, im curious... what are your questions, and more importantly, why must you ask them?

Well today in my lucid I have NEVER seen this girl before, that I know of. Plus sometimes I expierence weird false worlds, like a different universe, but I've never been there before, nor have I had magical powers.
So it sounds false to me. I can imagine faces right now of people or places I've never been, that I know of...
So if I can do that now, why not in my dreams?

I could be wrong but I suspect the angle here is more in concept than experience. I believe he is suggesting that you will have your own ideas what makes up a face. Your dreams will generally use this as a template. You are more likely to use a collage of faces and features you are familiar with and perhaps introduce concepts or images that caught the interest of you as an individual. Notions and concepts can be picked up from anywhere and combined of course. Its of course hard to seperate the sources of these ideas out on waking. Taking the egypt example posted earlier by another member, pyramids are also popular and known by many. Our minds may combine what we know of them and add features by association.

In one of my waking dreams (not sure what else to call it as i hadnt quite dropped off, had a temp, but experienced the usual vivid imagery), one of the first things I saw was a huge pyramid in the scrubland next to a small redstone mountain. It had a big christian sort of cross on the top of it. Thinking about that now, its not something i would expect to see anywhere, so is there a possible reason for it?

Yes. Simple association and trails of thought. What were the pharoahs to their people back then? Religious leaders. Add another religious leader symbol to the top while you are on that trail and hey presto lol.

Problem is its unlikely you will prove either way how much of your dreams are like that. One thing worth noting though. Societies as a whole do seem to have an influence on typical styles and natures of dreams. Societies with greater education and more general knowledge may therefore get more variety?...

I think that it's possible to dream about anything, even things we've never experienced. And I think that where I heard this may have been the movie "The Secret" (correct me if I'm wrong), but if only one person in the world has tho0ught of something it is somehow stored in this global human library bank that we are all connected and have access to. So if we know something or dream something but don't know why or how there is a likelihood that is why, because of the connection.

A nice notion that people are happy to attach to, but aside from seeing a film and liking the notion, is there really anf fact or reason to believe that is true? This.drops right back to the original posters question.

The root cause of everything dreamt. There are those who state with certainty that all thought is original. There are those who state with certainty that all thought is conditional. Then there are those who simply accept thought and dream while they wish for answers.

With no evidence being absolute which is the rational?

Or to put it another way, three blind men describe an elephant. One says its yelliw. One says its green. Another says its yellow or green. Are any of them right? Perhaps, but they are all fanatics hehe

Hehe on that subject, if youre wondering what colour the elephant is, I dont state anything with certainty. It would be difficult to with such a weird perspective on things. If you close your eyes and imagine life around your body, i imagine blackness then a green hue to everything, surrounded by it. If asked to imagine what defines people I imagine fiery spheres, surrounded by barriers that provide an end to each defenition. If you were to ask the nature of all though, the barriers disappear. There is only one thought, one perception. Time and space just concepts or ideas. All individuals just perspectives, trains of thought shaped by one swirling thought.

If there is no individual, if there is nothing but we are all constructs of that same something, would originality count for anything? Would it even matter?
