      sad/disturbing dreams

This thread is for people who have had dreams that you almost feel bad for having. The ones that you can't believe really came out of your head. I had a dream like this last night and I still can't stop thinking about it. I'll go ahead and share it here.

Horror of drugs (That aren't marijuana)

I was in a big parking lot on the side of a highway. I was there to make a drug deal with two other people that I didn't know. I kept getting nervous because cars kept driving really fast through the parking lot. I kept thinking that one of them would be a cop. We were about to give up on finding the drugs, when one of the people I was with saw it. He reached his hand down a gutter and pulled out a plastic bag full of adderall pills.

Later, time skipped some and I had taken some adderall at my house. I felt sped up and kind of light headed. My old friend JP had come over, which was strange because our friendship ended on pretty bad terms. I knew that he had come over, but I couldn't find him anywhere in the house. I knew something was wrong, so I went out into the garage and JP was sitting in my car, in the passenger side seat. In the driver seat there was a little girl who JP was helping smoke out of my pipe. She had blond hair and looked as though she was two to three years old. I had never seen her before.

I opened the car door and grabbed the pipe from the girl, putting it in my pocket. I put out my hand towards the plastic bag full of pills that JP was holding, but he held back. I told him that he could keep the pills. I didn't want them because I could get in trouble with them. I then picked up the girl and felt her shaking. She had smoked crushed up adderall pills out of my pipe. I asked JP how much she had smoked. I forgot what he said. I told him how bad it was and that I may have to take her to the hospital. When I said this I looked at the girl to make sure she didn't understand what I was saying. I asked him if he did it just to get back at me or something.

      He said "Honestly, yes."

I then told him that I wouldn't be the one paying for it and that it was worse for the little girl than me.

He was now in the back of my car and three girls were in the car with him. At this point the little girl had disappeared from my hands. I asked them why they didn't stop him and they all they said that they didn't know it was harmful. I called them all names over and over. I started to leave to go inside and they followed me to the door. They all started to look pretty nervous as I threatened how much trouble they would be in. I went in and walked past my parents in the living room going straight to my room. I held the pipe in my pocket to make sure it didn't fall out. I would put it away before I told my parents what was going on.

Feel free to share your own thoughts/experiences.

(Didn't even notice there was a nightmare page, feel free to move this)

Yes, I've had disturbing dreams. The one you described doesn't sound that bad though. It's horrible in the sense that, yes it would be really bad if a 2-3 year old was smoking drugs, but I don't find anything very disturbing about it.

I was force-fed the remains of my parents once. The stench and the taste was disgusting; the moment I woke up, I ran over to the bathroom and retched and dry heaved for a bit. Might not seem too bad now but I must have been like 11 so it was particularly unnerving at the time.

I used to get gory nightmares frequently as a kid and absolutely dreaded having to go to bed. They eventually became less frequent and disturbing the older I got and pretty much stopped altogether once I got a hang of lucid dreaming.

@ Dianeva: I'm sure the experience was much worse than he made it sound if he was perturbed by it. Forum posts don't do nightmares justice.

You are probably right. I've posted a nightmare on here that was hell to experience but that I knew wouldn't sound terrifying.

Wow, that must have been really scary.

Yeah, it doesn't sound that disturbing to read I guess. A lot of it lies with my relationship with the dream character.

My dreams comes from my emotions. If this were my dream this is how I would interpret it:

Feeling paranoid in the parking seems very normal to me. I've done some pretty sketchy drug deals. I've been told that paranoia is an effect of a lot of drugs, however I think paranoia mainly comes from the fact that the drugs are illegal. I was always paranoid of cops. This is a natural feeling to have in a drug dream.

Was JP a bad influence on you? To me a little girl represents innocence. JP was influencing her to do something that was very bad for her to the point where she got hurt. It sounds to me like you had higher expectations of the people in the car. I would never expect somebody to do that to a 3 year old child who does not know any better. It sounds like you felt that you were responsible for this young girl's innocence.

I feel that my emotions in waking life come out in my dreams. Were this my dream I would consider if I felt that someone's or perhaps even my own innocence was being taken away or taken advantage of. I would also considerer whether I felt responsible for it.

It does sound pretty terrifying to me. I would not have enjoyed experiencing that dream.

I had a dream last night in which I was a male murderer, at a man's house and telling him to pay some debt. He didn't have the money at the time, so I informed him I'd already killed his 5 year old daughter to show him I'm serious. I warned him that his 7 year old son would be next if he didn't pay by a certain date, and that I'd keep killing his children in increasing order of age. I told him that my daughter had died and this somehow made up for it. He finally understood and agreed that it was only fair. (In real life I'm a 21 year old female with no kids.)

I was viewing everything from the murderer's viewpoint, and it was like I was him, having his thoughts and viewing the situation. But it was so different from the way I think, I hesitate to even use the 'I' pronoun. I felt this sadistic feeling while telling him I had killed his daughter, I didn't care at all and was in a way taking pleasure from it. But I also sort of felt like 2 people, like I was possessing his body and sharing half his thoughts, without producing the thoughts myself.

The experience of the dream wasn't bad, it's only after. The knowledge that my mind is even capable of coming up with thoughts like that scares me.

It is amazing what our minds can think of. What is most important is how we act on our thoughts. Perhaps subconsciously you can sympathize for somebody who has had a big loss and has made bad decisions based on it. Sometimes dreams have a way of making us aware of our thoughts and emotions on the most random or even frightening topics.

I used to have a lot of disturbing dreams, but not so much anymore. One of the repetitive disturbing dreams I had when I was a child was people around me (wether I knew them or not) defecating on me. Ewww.
