      Lucid Dreaming theory

Well, I was just wondering, as a noob, I don't understand how lucid dreams can be exciting. Can't your mind only reproduce things that you have experianced in a dream, hence you would only be able to do things you have done before? Don't things you haven't done before wouldn't be represented accurately, would they?

Not necessarily. It's easy to do things you've done in real life, but it's also possible to do things you wouldn't be able to do in real life (and haven't done before). All it takes is a bit of visualization, and your ability to expect a certain outcome. When you touch a computer mouse, you know what it's going to feel like. It's the same principle in dreams, which can apply to flying, and basically anything else. I've flown a great number of times in my dreams, most of the flights being the speed of a fast car (or even faster!). During these flights, I can feel the blast off the ground, along with the acceleration and wind going against me. I've been on a lot of rollercoasters and rides that contain G-forces, so perhaps that's why I can imagine it so well. However, I've also done shapeshifting, both passively and actively. Activities like this simply require tactile and visual imagination.

You'd be surprised as to what you could do in a lucid!
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

There are literally no limits when it comes to dreaming. You can do things you haven't ever experienced before. You can do things your waking mind couldn't even imagine doing. Things completely outside your normal way of experiencing the world. It is unbelievable what the dreaming mind is capable of creating.

Here's why: A lot of what you feel is based strongly off hormones. Ever had a dream where you felt undeniable love for a dream character. This is the love hormone (oxyticin?) at work. But as for your question about excitement, it's adrenaline. I had a dream the other night where it was windy and raining. The rain was hitting, the wind was chilling me, and there was an electric spark in the air. The atmosphere was incredible, godlike almost, and I was filled with pure adrenaline. That's exciting.

To the same token, you can use it to relive moments or do things you hadn't done before. Want to see 3 suns set as the moon rises behind them? Do it. Want to explore the cosmos? They're yours. Want to drive a Ferrari off a cliff? No consequences.

Things you have not done would be represented inaccurately IF you have no preconceived notion as to what they would be like. ...aand sometimes, just randomly, of course.
I have done things that defy your assertion, however. I have seen in 360 degrees. I have done drugs that do not exist, and experienced highs that don't exist. I have traveled to different planets.
I think it depends on what you consider to be exciting.

Sloth, have you seen Waking Life? one of the characters says that he's trying to see in 360 degree vision in his dreams.

This fact also puzzled me, and the answer was interesting. The mind can on the fly come up with how something should feel.
      for example physical sensations:
      finger though the palm
      Going through walls
      flying through glass

      Actions/experiences:
      teleportation
      flying
      mind control

Emotions (turbocharged, posessing never experienced before qualities):
      love
      fear
      awe
