Not necessarily. It's easy to do things you've done in real life, but it's also possible to do things you wouldn't be able to do in real life (and haven't done before). All it takes is a bit of visualization, and your ability to expect a certain outcome. When you touch a computer mouse, you know what it's going to feel like. It's the same principle in dreams, which can apply to flying, and basically anything else. I've flown a great number of times in my dreams, most of the flights being the speed of a fast car (or even faster!). During these flights, I can feel the blast off the ground, along with the acceleration and wind going against me. I've been on a lot of rollercoasters and rides that contain G-forces, so perhaps that's why I can imagine it so well. However, I've also done shapeshifting, both passively and actively. Activities like this simply require tactile and visual imagination. |
