      Learn to love your Demons

      Hi all,

I have not yet experienced SP and frightening entities.

Do you think blowing kisses at the would make them disappear. Could I have just invented a radical new technique? Could I have it named after me please? The 'Higgs kiss'.

Well... No. Lucid dreamers and researchers like Stephen Laberge have know for a long time that best way to deal with your 'demons' is to fully accept them into your wider being, ie. hugs. Carl Jung believed that rejected or neglected aspects of your psyche can become a 'shadow element' that in dreams manifest themselves through a variety of archetypes, including demons. Jung believed that by reintegrating these shadow elements into your larger self you can achieve greater 'individuation', a wholer being.

So yeah, show those demons some love!

About 15 years ago (before I even knew about LD or SP) I was suffering from jet lag after a long haul flight.

That first night of sleep after the flight I had my one and only SP experience. It was VERY frightening not knowing what it was. There was tugging and buzzing sensation on my arm like something was really holding it, trying to pull it off.

Then... I kid you not... a set of three 'demons' appeared. They looked exactly like those 'cheerful' looking ghosts in Ghostbusters. Despite this one could say at the time I was absolutely petrified due to my ignorance. I was also quite versed at the time in a form of martial arts called Wing Chun kung fu and experienced the wonderful sensation of seeing the ghosts off with my kung fu skills (reflex action trained through drills, drills and more rills) and they all flew out of the bedroom window defeated. I managed to raise myself out my bed somehow in order to achieve this. At the time up until a week ago (when I realised it for what it was) I really thought I was awake during all of this. Very happy indeed to have this incident 'cleared up' for me and now somewhat relish the opportunity to have another experience.

Nice! Haha. Lucid combat is one of my favorite things in the world (especially since I don't really subscribe to the whole 'fighting your nightmare creatures is like destroying an aspect of yourself' idea (unless, of course, that aspect happens to be fear itself). How people choose to deal with their nightmare creatures is ultimately going to reflect their style, so it should obviously be different for some people than for others. But for me, that adventure of going hand to hand (or power to power) with insanely powerful creatures or skilled fighter characters is part of the reason I love lucid dreaming as much as I do.

And that sounds like an awesome way to deal with a horrifying bout of sleep paralysis. Well done!

So far, fortunately, I've had no demons to deal with.

Every LD has contained only interest and adventure, nothing frightening.

Every SP experience has been contained within my mind. Usually my eyes are well closed and my body tingles until I become lucid in a dream. That's all SP has really ever been for me, yet. Haha.

I think I met a Succubus in my dreams. It was like a video game simulation, she passed out and I came closer to try and help her. She ends up sucking up the air in my body when my lips met hers so she can feel better.

So I guess that could be a 'Higgs kiss' on the female demon's part.

Normally, I'd freak out if I didn't know about lucid dreaming, but it kind of felt relaxing because it felt like she took a part of me, and now I have to find her and do the same so we can find solace for both of us.

And when I do find her, I'm going to love everything she can dish out to me, no matter how traumatic it might be. It's fun accepting who you really are, even if it does cause a few cringes.

Sadomasochism, the perfect way to love your demons.

I always had demons to deal with. Until I sold my soul. In return, no demons.

On a serious note, fully accept them. Know that they will not go away and realize they are just part of your imagination that will not hurt you. =)

Indeed. In one of Chuck Spezzano's books he devotes a chapter to 'Shadow Figures' with powerful exercises to confront them and to integrate them into one's consciousness. This is worthwhile as they are generally hidden in the deep recesses of one's mind. He is a Doctor of psychology by the way.

How exactly do you kick ass when you're paralyzed in SP?

These shadows never try to scare me in SP they seem rather curious. They will just stand there and watch me while seemingly interacting with eachother. They also kinda give off a good vibe not the "evil" presence feeling people always seem to have.

      Hmmmm..

Every time a DC haunts me , and i don't know its a dream, i get really scared and i wake up. But then, i make it a dream sign .. So when i see the guy i instantly get lucid..

A month ago a DC thief scared me.. so i got lucid the other night and stabbed him ..

2 days ago i had a dream about watching some sport at the arena, another bad guy.. stabbed him too, in the chest with a knife. (it was awful feeling to "kill" someone) but i find it the easiest way with some sorts of DCs..

I had a dream about some demon girl.. She was fat and ugly, sitting on the couch.. The room turned red, i got lucid, and she said, "i will never leave you alone, i will bother you in every dream you have".. I tried to talk to her, or ask why, but no use.. So i made a demon like star with my hands, it was formed in the air and floated, then i said go to hell, and then waved my hands over the star onto her.. She disappeared, everything turned normal.. then i flied out and had fun like in all other LD..
