I need your help, dream ruining my mind 8 years on

      Hi all,
i need help and or advise please.
about 8 years ago i woke up to feel like i had traveled back in time to living with my family, my fiancee and my daughter where gone and i was 19 again. During the course of the day my memories began to come back to me as to what was going on in my life when i was 19ish, but my memories of my life that i had up until the age of 27 remaind vivid, especially the last few weeks, my daughters birth, her bdays and all other important and amazing moments over those 8 years.
I didnt take long to realize it was a dream. at the time i was being treated for problems with distinguishing dreams from reality & hyper active brain activity etc and we where getting no where. before this had happened my dreams had been getting longer and longer but never over a month or so on one occasion. on one test i had to stay awake all night before (as usual) then go to sleep in a lab attached to all sorts of machines etc, the doctor came in after about an hour or two and said, sorry its not working your not falling into REM sleep, will have to do it another day. but during that time on the bed i had a very detailed and elaborate dream which i told him about, to which he said, thats not possible as you were not in REM sleep. They tried a few more times then gave up!

anyway, i went of the rails for a few years after that trying to come to terms with all this, but i never really have. weirdly ive forgotten allot about my fiancee, shes faded somewhat, but not my daughter.

im now 27, the age i was when i woke up. 8 years ago in my sleep i was this age and had a loving fiancee and my beautiful daughter Flo. Not a day has passed that i havent missed them and i have not been able to tell anyone. (ive occasionally got drunk and broken down about it to some friends/girlfriends but i think they think im just drunk so ignore me!)
today would have been her 6th bday. The last few years ive wanted to talk to somone about this but given my mental health history (ie depression, as a result of all this- and dream related issues) i dont think i will ever be taken seriously.

Not only do i hope this is informative to all of you but i hope maybe one of you can offer some advice that is maybe a bit outside the box for a problem which in itself is very much outside the box.

thank you for taking the time to read this. Its taken me 8 years to summon the courage to write it.

First off you should get a new doctor, that one doesn't know what he's talking about. We have been proven to dream in nREM sleep and you can personally attest to that since you still had a dream despite no sign of going into REM sleep.

As for your experience it sounds a bit confusing from what I read. You say you are currently 27 but 8 years ago at the age of 19 you had a dream in which you lived out the next 8 years of your life. You became very attached to that family (in your dream) and you then woke up and you were back at the age of 19 in reality. Over the past 8 years you've lived your life being in love with this dream family but having to live this "other" life leading to various people and doctors labeling you "depressed" and other mental problems. I hope I understood this correctly.

If this is true then I would like to hear back from you so I can try to give you some advice/offer any help I can.

Apart from that some people do report having very long dreams. Not just a few hours or so but months and years. These people are often said to have difficulty telling the difference between reality and the dream world which isn't surprising. For those who are worried or label you as depressed/whatever illness they say you have I would tell them your story. Try to get them to feel empathetic, try to put them in your shoes. If my whole life (or at least the past 8 years) suddenly ended and people kept calling me crazy because of this I would be depressed. Try to get them to share your feelings so they can understand what you're going through and try to give you some real help. Whether that be through a psychiatrist or just a sympathetic ear at least it will help you.

It is time to wake up and face reality. It sounds like you had a great dream there, but you need to let go of it and get on with your life.

Start by running every morning, a little further each day, and taking a cold shower afterwards. Please do let us know how you feel after a week of doing that!

It is OK to think back to the dream and the people in it, but stop dwelling on it... you are overdoing it if your fingers are all pruney.

I think you are underestimating the power of such a dream.

Unfortunately I'm not sure what could be done about this. This is a movie style dilemma here..... The only thing I can think of is to use lucid dreaming to visit them. You could even ask them what to do about it!

I've never really heard of this kind of thing happening to somebody for such a long period of time but I'd recommend that you avoid Lucid Dreaming to visit them as Sacred Arboretum mentioned as it may bring about the same dream or a similar dream and cause even more stress for you. I suggest that you just try to forget about this dream the best that you can. Although it may have seemed real and your feelings for your daughter seem to be genuine, you have to remember that it is all part of a false reality and you need to get on with your one true reality. I suppose it'd be similar to trying to get over a deceased loved one but it is something that would have to be done. And as for you not being taken seriously because of depression, if you try talking to a specialist on this matter I'm sure they will take you seriously. After all, it's their job to.

Thats some crazy shit lilg. I gotta say, I have had dreams like this before many times. In my estimation, its a representation of missed opportunities. Some times, the choices we could have made become burdens.
I have had dreams in which I lived an entire lifetime or just part of a life. My sister has a re-occurring dream in which she lives a different life and the dreams picks up where she left off when she woke up from the dream last.
Whether or not they are real realities doesnt really matter to me. They are choices that can, will, or could have been made. I have also had many pre-cog dreams and yet they havent lended me much material use. Most dreams are for us, rather than to bring things into this world. We create our own reality, and the subconscious listens and watches and waits...

This sounds like you went through a WILD and a WBTB at the same time. Kind of like sleep walking during a wild.

If what you say is true then you may have a form of schizophrenia. Patients with that disorder have a hard time associating what's real and what's not. In my opinion you should seek psychological help, especially if it has affected your real life like you said. Check out this article:Can you control your dreams? - CNN.com

If you go to a therapist, be sure to visit one trained in transpersonal psychology. Most psychiatrists will begin with a drug regimen in order to re-tune your brains chemical makeup. That unfortunately, is not the way to go and it seems you may have already had some experience with mainstream mental health professionals.
Mechanical problems of the mind and body can often be "troubleshooted" from the inside out rather than pumping one's self full of drugs.

One of the biggest issues of modern humanity is our inability to perceive illusion. Propaganda controls most of societal philosophy and political control is amassed at the very top of the pyramid. This seems counter intuitive and it is, yet people see something other than reality.
It would seem a large portion of the first world population has some form of schizophrenia. Modern, mainstream psychiatry is a joke and I would even say its very, very dangerous.

I am just going to state my opinion as if it's fact. easier to write that way.

You were/are in another dimension, living another life. I have a wonderful wife on the Dream Plane, and in Waking Life, I am divorced, broke, and in constant pain.

I suffered from depression after realizing that the Dream Plane is real, and my life in Wakeworld (as I call it) SUCKS compared to my Dreamworld life.

The bad news is, you did not dream of the future. The good news is your daughter and spouse are real in the other dimension, and you're not crazy, just magickal.

Crazy is what the normies call natural shamans so they can get us addicted to their crap drugs which fuck up our brains, and consequently our minds so we can't do magick as well.
