Dream within a dream...not false awakening???!

      I had a non-lucid dream:

Trashed my super cool big-river-fishing TRAIN. Felt all of the sqashed wagons chrashing at my body.
      ***
WOKE UP in some kind of psychological laboratory with female doctor sitting in a couch beside me. It turned out that I was a part of a dream experiment of some kind. That lady numbered all my ex and future roles in artifically induced dreams i've been and will go through. The last thing I remember is me asking: "Am I at least well paid for this?"

So, how do you call this "dream within a dream" thing. I don't see it as a false awakening because when I woke up I wasn't stunned how real that awakening was and how it fooled me. I didn't do any of the usual morning chores around the house in it either.

I remember one false awakening when I went through almost entire day not noticing it's all a dream. Also i remember how stunned I was when I woke up the next morning; I couldn't believe the dream was unreal.

Unlike it, this dream felt just like an another, separate non-lucid dream.

If someone else had similar concept of a dream it would be great if he shares it here. I doubt it but if there is no name for this kind of thing I suggest we call it An Architect for it is creating a dream within a dream ^^

Let me know what are your experiences with this if there are any!

      Cheers

Today I had a dream I was with some woman then randomly I was in a store, this kinda sucked because I remembered being with the woman while IN a different dream scape, so I went back to the woman.
I should have become lucid there, seeing as how vivid it was too, but oh well.
I don't think dreams within dreams can happen.

But I also had another interesting experience when I became semi lucid.

I was in some room, then to put me asleep the DC started putting ice on me and put me into a cool tube like thing, I started feeling SP in my dream, which was odd.
Then next thing I knew I was "Lucid" I flew around and talked to a dog.

      Was def interesting.

Xambax: While there is a chance that this could've been a FA it also could've been a separate dream that continued right after the first one. False awakenings are, by definition, waking up into another dream, which you said is exactly what happened to you. They don't need to be of you starting out your normal routine or anything, just you waking up while still being in a dream. They also don't have to be very vivid; I had a FA in which I did wake up in my room but there were a bunch of animals outside my window (which being in a suburb is quite strange) and looking back on it the dream never felt like reality. Just remember that FAs are "dreams within dreams" just with a slightly different concept; dreams are "real", movies are "fake".

Ok, cool. I guess I learned something new about FAs. I would place this under a FA definition. But I disagree those were dream after a dream. When I remember my dreams in the morning and if I remember more of them there is always a gap of not knowing what happened beetween them.

In this case there was no gap or any sign of "not knowing" beetween the two parts of a dream, plus the storyline was connected.
