Punched Myself In the Face

I woke myself up last night in a very painful way. I was sleeping on my side, with my arms out in front of me. Sort of like a praying mantis. I had some sort of hypnic jerk or bicep spasm. My arm curled like the 1993 movie "Rookie of the Year," and I punched myself, full force, in the face. I just laid there for a minute, thinking, "I feel like I just got punched in the god damn face." It took me a minute to realize what happened.

But I bet it was not funny at the moment.

I had such a strong hypnic jerk just once, after I started LDing. Full body jerk, it looked like when they shock a patient in ER, with my arms and legs flying up in the air.

I'm used to getting punched and kicked while I sleep. It is not normally from myself. My wife is a martial artist. After a long day of work, fighting, and training, she will reflexively kick or punch in her sleep. My bed is a dangerous place.
