Thread: How are your best dreams?

That's a tough question actually.
I can't decide if I love or hate having dreams where when I wake up and I'm sad that the dream was really just a dream :s. Such as the ones were you form close relationships with a character in your dream, and awake to realize that all never happened. The same goes when something improves for the better on your self being. These dreams themselves are so fulfilling and desiring that people strive for, however the elegance of it all is shattered upon awakening back to the real world.

So in my opinion, my "best dreams" are a rude awakening back to reality. :l

My best ones involve beauty - often something of the natural world like watching mountains and lakes. The other elements tend to be dramatic, like finding or rescuing a lost love, or accomplishing greatness or obtaining something immensely valuable.

They're all different. I can't choose just one word to describe all of my best dreams.

My dream was quite a severe case, I was dreaming that I was living in some sort of fantastic marvellous world, then I had a false awakening and I became semi-lucid, when I opened my eyes I was in "reality" and when I closed them I was dreaming!

I was slightly depressed (in my dream) that I couldn't live forever in that fantastic dream, so I decided to live in it forever! That is, living only to dream!!!

Even more, with that eye trick, the dream-world adapted to reality, if there's a bed in real world there's a bed in that wonderful world, if there's a staircase here there's a staircase there, only with different colours and... You know what? I'm publishing this dream! I'll give you the link later with all the details

But how would you describe your absolutely best dream? Definitely you haven't had a dream of the "too beautiful to wake up" sort

The only dreams I don't want to wake up from are the ones where loved ones come to visit. But I chose "Original" on the poll, because I love originality in dreams, and waking up with a muse to write a story or song.

For me, beauty has nothing to do with the landscape, necessarily, it's all drama. In my dream, it was about living in an absolutely fantastic dreamworld, it's a deep feeling that I define as beauty but that could be many things

Yes, but there's nothing like a beautiful dream to feel alive (or dreaming anyway ).

I love dreams that are adventurous (and I'm not feeling a massive flow of negative emotions from it). I don't get to fight battles, dress in battle gears and see mystical creatures in everyday life so I love that sort of dreams.

But "adventurous" is very general... do you prefer adventure, originality, excitement (for the adventure and all that) or just fun?

I'm not quite sure, it has been long since I have adventure dreams. But something that's memorable for me would be where I'll be using some impressive skills, missiles are being launched, I can fly or leap really high. I have several dreams consisting of time travelling, dimension travelling and pausing time, they are pretty fun for me.

I might be bothered by other things that's why I don't dream about things I like.

It was very hard to make a deccision.
I like to dream about beautiful places. I often dream about some kind of paradise and almost want to swear I don't only have this dream visually but can also smell and feel in this dream. I like to focus on such places when meditating or tying to relax myself.

I haven't had many erotic dreams. I did like the one I can remember best though, because it felt so real. Definitly like to experience it again.

Actually, "beautiful" is an extremely subjective term, in my case "beautiful" is way different from "fun and exciting", last time I had one of those dreams I felt groggy for a few days (like "this world is just plain dull and emotionless, why can't I live in that dream? Why?"), but I'm interested in your definition of "beautifulness", do you consider a pretty landscape beautiful or just a minor decoration of a larger, more beautiful as a whole dream?

My favorite dreams are the really long vivid ones that have an epic plot. Like an adventure dream or something with a lot of action.

Then I'll suppose you have never had a "this is just too beautiful to be true" dream, epic plots are nothing in comparison with beautiful dreams (though, it depends in how beautiful and epic are your dreams )

My epic dreams are epic

But I do remember a dream I had about 4 or 5 years ago, where I had to defeat a giant robot rabbit that was destroying a city (Kinda like Godzilla if you've seen it. But with a evil robot rabbit...), however just before I saw the rabbit, I was sat on the top on a construction site. I was looking over the city, and the view was amazing. Not exactly beautiful, because it was like a blood red sunset XD

It was supposed to be creepy I think. But the view was amazing, and I could probably still paint it to this day because it was so detail. Anyways, I still prefer the adventure ones.

And are you sure there isn't a japanese movie about that? That sounded quite japanese

I've had dreams similar to yours (half as fun and twice as crazy ), but still, I prefer beautiful dreams, though they are (probably) quite uncommon and hard to describe...

Can I pick all of the above because my best dreams are beautifull, and exciting and fun, everything really.

As far as I know, you'll hardly have a beautiful dream without it being exciting and fun, but if your dream is really beautiful, you'll hardly notice if it is exciting and fun or not.

Same here. Playing super hero is pretty fun plus I feel like a bad ass when I wake up and I need that sometimes. XD

Mmm yes, that's what makes it so hard to pick a "best" dream, since they all cancel each other out once one is prominent enough.
