Exclamation Random Question that occurred to me

Hi, I'm a new member and joined just to ask this question.

I've been dreaming about this girl I like and they are random dreams. But anyway, since I've been dreaming about her I notice her turning towards me in real life. She just turns towards me. So this leads to my question, is it possible for my dreams to affect another person in real life?

It also may be that you've started paying more attention to her since the dreams.

I guess no one knows. None of us really claim to be able to really share dreams and so on. I think if it is possible, it may be a bad thing to do.

Some people do believe in shared dreaming (the act of two or more people being in the same dream), but that's not something I'm going to believe in unless it happens to me.

I don't believe that your dreams are somehow the reason that she's started noticing you. It's far more likely that it's a coincidence--or perhaps as VashtaNerada said, you're only just starting to pay attention.

Agreed with the others. It wouldn't make sense to jump to such an odd conclusion that would reframe the way you look at the world, without having some pretty good evidence. Like if she came up to you and explained the dream that you had in detail and there was no way she could have known that otherwise.

In addition to the possibilities others have indicated, maybe she started paying more attention to you before the dreams, in ways that you picked up on subconsciously, and that's what caused the dreams in the first place.
Or, because of your dreams, you started paying a little more attention to her, she noticed this, suspects you're interested in her and started paying more attention to you.

I also agree with the others. If you do want to check out the idea of Shared Dreaming, go to the IOSDP Forum on this site, much more information there!

I do believe in the act of sharing dreams and being able to make other people become lucid if you find them--there's a bit about this at the lucidity-institutes website. I've never personally had it happen, but I like to believe I have an open mind about things. I don't just believe EVERYTHING I read, but I do believe in the power of the mind--there's plenty of evidence, in my mind, to support the idea that we humans are capable of much more using our mind than we do.

That said, I don't think merely dreaming someone did something will MAKE them do it IRL. It seems to me, that it's more likely that if you dream something happened or someone behaved in some way, and they do, it would be a precognitive dream.

That's just my own thoughts on the subject though.
