      Text in dreams.

Has anyone been able to read text in their dream? In my dreams, everyone speaks english, but when I see text it is clear as day but it looks like its a different language.

Yes, I have had dreams about DreamViews for example with entire threads. I remember especially one non-lucid dream in which I participated in a DV thread which included the post that this is so weird, it is likely a dream. And yet after reading that in my dream I did not become lucid. Here is my DJ entry about that: http://www.dreamviews.com/blogs/joan...f-aware-44769/

You may say I'm a dreamer.

I can read text in my dreams, but I can not get the words to stay the same, or make lots of sense. I can read a few sentences and then try to re-read it, but new words take their place. Often some letters are upside down or back words, or replaced with symbols.

Wow Joanna that was a nice entry. And sivason, that's what happened to me. While I was reading the words would change everytime I looked back at the book. And in between words were like dashes and dots.

It varies for me. Usually if I see text it's either blurry or looks like another language like you describe. In a particularly vivid dream many times I can read it but as others said, the words will change if I look away.

I never understood why the whole unreadable text thing didn't just automatically make me lucid, lol. "last time I checked I was literate, but oh well"

Similar experience for me: In my dreams the writing is always in English, but for some strange reason I can never read it - it's either too blurry or the letters keeping morphing. This has become a great reality check for me now, a dead give away that I'm dreaming and it allows me to become lucid on occasions.

Last night in a dream I looked at a car dash and there were dials for weeks, days, and hours. What I'm trying to figure out at this point is whether I actually read that or did I see some scribbles and just know what it was for because of its purpose in the dream which had nothing to do with the car... Lol.

It's pretty hard for me to read something. The words keep chenging. And writing something is extremely frustrating. It's like i'm still learning how to write.

I have read text before, but if I look away and look back it will have changed, usually.

I also had a non-lucid dream recently where I was trying to read a bit of paper and I just couldn't, not for the life of me. It was really really frustrating

Wow that's awesome! That sounds exactly what happened to me in my dream. It is really cool to see how everyone has very similar experiences.
