      Question Dream Recall

      Usually I can recall 2 or 3 dreams a night with moderate detail, if I set a few alarm clocks in the early morning, however lately I haven't been able to recall even one dream, or one dream with little detail.

      Any tips on how to increase dream recall apart from setting multiple alarms in the morning to wake you up (what are the best times to set it/when is the best way time to catch your REM cycle).
      Dream recall become better with practice of course, but are there any ways of helping you recall more and in better detail in the short term. Thanks for any help.

      When I struggled with dream recall early in my Lucid Dreaming 'career' I adopted a few techniques, these being;

      1. ADA or, All day Awareness, is basically paying attention to the little things in your waking life, and really taking in and absorbing everything around you, it makes your dreams more vivid (at least it did in my case) and therefore, easier to remember, for more in ADA Check out KingYoshi's guide on it, it's very well written and layed out. ( http://www.dreamviews.com/induction-...kingyoshi.html )

      2. Daily 'Summaries' - Another word for it is blogs, you basically write down in like, 300 words or less an explanation of your day, and how you felt throughout it.. any major things that happened, weird things, anything, just write about it. It stimulates your memory in one way or another and in turn, improves recall.

      3. 'Morning feels' - This was something I started doing that helped a lot for some reason, when you wake up, but have no dreams or fragments of dreams that you can remember, you write off whatever you are thinking about, your feelings and what you think the day may old instead, I'm not sure what it does to help, perhaps just the practice of writing something down helps, I'm not sure, but it's defiantly worth a try.

      Hope I have helped in one way or another..

      Ok I'll read the artical thanks. I always seem to suddenly remember a small part of the dream in the late morning, but only very small details. I've actually started to work on having all day awareness, quite a hard thing to pick up at first but It'll come in the end.

      Yeah man, everything comes with time, just stay at it and keep persistent. And if you're remembering small details, write them down mate, anything and everything helps man, so, if it's an inconvenience to write these down when you realise these things, maybe find a way to write down some of it quickly? I'm sure it might help. You could use 'tags' - just write down some of the main points that will refresh your memory on the dream at a later date, then elaborate on the tags later when you have time.

      Keep at it man, you'll get there.

      Wow doing all day summaries work so well! I did one for yesterday, my first one, and already tonight i remembered 5 dreams. They weren't in too much detail but i definitely remembered a lot! Thanks for the advice, still working on ADA though, its pretty challenging.

      There are variants to ADA that IMO are just as valuable to LDing as ADA but without the life interruption/exhaustion. Termed "ADA/RC" or "continuous RC" by some, the idea is that you're continuously aware of some single aspect of your existence: the feel of gravity, your breathing/blinking, your heartbeat, your location, etc. At first yes it can take a lot of effort, but you're not noticing absolutely everything around you, you're focusing on just one thing. And since what you're noticing is relating to the self, it's self-awareness that you keep on high alert, which is really good for LD progress. And since it's just one thing you're focusing on, you can get good at it pretty fast.

      Had 2 dreams in the same week that consisted of swords. Would that be a possible dream sign?
