Dreaming of a past life....

Rather unsettling morning, I must say, I had a strange dream that has been on my mind, and ive spent many hours online trying to find out if others have had similar experiences.

I dreamt I was a farm hand somewhere deep, lush, and green. Im assuming it was past the times of slavery, as I worked with another employed African American man. Im am female in waking life, and in this dream I was a causcian male. I dreamt my employer and I got into a fight and as I turned to leave he shot me through the chest, and I fell, and I thought so this is how it feels to die. And then I awoke in another dream as myself.

Has anyone else seen glimpses of past lives? I cant explain it any other way. I am usually pretty attached to my sense of self in dreams. Or is there any other explanation?

Tons of things tend to influence dreams - TV, daily life, books, things people say. Your mind is able to craft multiple scenarios based on these things. It's possible that this dream was rooted on something you've seen or read somewhere else.

I wouldn't knock the past life theory, however - that could prove true.

Yes! I think I interact with past lives in my dreams often. I have never seen how I have died in a past life, so that is interesting . One dream that comes to mind for me is where I was walking down a brick city center, with some detail circular teal mosaic tiles every so often- and I was a male in brown robes. All adults I passed were unfriendly but when I saw a child they hugged my leg and I kneeled down & interacted with the child. I felt I had caught a glimpse of some past life memory!
