Our bodies are not made for a polyphastic sleep schedule. Your circadian rhythm, which rises and falls consistently and does not change or adapt, would make it difficult to adapt to such a schedule, and I do not personally believe it would be healthy especially if you're only getting 160 minutes of sleep a day. That said, I am not sure the exact effect it would have on your dreams. I know when you take a midday nap you usually go directly into REM sleep but if your sleep schedule is consisting of only naps your body will have to get its NREM somewhere. Whether your body would default into REM or NREM during these napping phases I'm not sure. I have a feeling it would significantly inhibit your dreaming, but I can't say for sure. |
