Its amazing to read all those dreams, alot of common things occurring in different peoples dreams. Like red skies, feeling of impending doom etc.

I have them every now and then, sometimes several nights a week.
Every time I wake up it leaves me with a strong emotional feeling, sometimes carrying on throughout my journey to work some mornings, and then all the days distractions hit me and I forget it for a while.

I have had alot of zombie dreams with blood red skies, sacrificial alters with blood activating a sort of gate (like the hell mouth in Buffy, I actually saw this in buffy after the dreams). All with the end of the world feeling. Ive been raptured, witnessed tsunamis first hand and more things of this nature in my dreams that I can vividly remember.

My most recent one was being out in front of my house with a bunch of people I was not familiar with but felt I knew them. There was several planets visible, in different sizes and I remember the end of the world feeling which I would translate to a complete shift in everything I seem to have known about the world, and i felt scared too.

Also in another dream, when i woke up in my own house (in the dream btw) and dad left before i got up as usual. I then walked through to the kitchen for a bite for breakfast then got a phone call from my best friend (who has also had dreams about being told about 21/12/2012 in a dream before reading about it!) telling me "That time i told you about....its now, look out your bedroom window"
Then in my dream I went to look out my window to see something that I thought looked like a plane in a big ball of fire, crash about a half mile away from my house and wiping out the houses behind my house then shortly after, another one came crashing closer and was headed straight for my house and then I just woke up. i had the feeling of "Oh shit! This is really it!"

I have had this feeling in real life before! When i was on a bus and the front wheel came off on the motorway and skidded toward embankment, I really thought that it was going to end bad. Luckily for me (and everyone on the bus) we escaped unharmed just a little shaken too.

Sorry if this is a bit much to read but if you want to know more about my dreams or just want to discuss this and other related things, I would be more than enthused to chat

      Peace out

      David

I've had one, in fact a few days ago while I was working on my website, I went through 11 pages of dreams and almost forgot I had such a horrible dream.

      Here's mine (I just copied&pasted it):

      September 11, 2003

I generally have weird dreams but never anything really bad. This one, however, was the most vivid and disturbing. I dreamt the world came to an end.

First off, I haven’t seen a horror flick in like forever, don’t watch the news because it's depressing, and I really don’t think the world is going to come to an end anytime soon. I think our world still has a lot of growing to do, and so much more to experience, it's only just begun.

The thing is, in my dream the world comes to an end, in a sense, it doesn’t actually explode and everyone is killed or whatever, not that kinda ending. It ends as in that the world as we know it now, will be faded away, and the dawn of a new world will begin where ours use to be. It's strange because everyone I know is in it, the war in the Middle East is still going on, and it doesn’t look like it's that far into the future. Then it turns into the battle between good and evil, where no matter what religion you are, what you believe in, we're all on the same side; if you're fighting for good. In my dream it seems as though evil won, it was a horrible, terrifying dream, I woke up feeling sick and wanting to throw up. If you guys saw what I saw you'd feel the same way.

I got the feeling it didn’t end there. I saw a baby boy, a boy born from a good mother and a once good father that had turned on us. Before I woke up I saw the baby boy, with his arms tied above his head. I’m not going to say what was happening to him because it was very disturbing. I was looking at the baby and I saw a glimpse of what he'd look like when he got older, maybe about 15 years old, maybe not even that old.

Then I woke up. I couldn’t take it anymore. It was just awful! In my dream it was raining blood.

i had one of these a few weeks ago. In mine the sun ket getting bigger and was getting ready to explode. by the end of the dream i could barely see anymore because of how bright it got. I woke up before i could see the outcome though, so i didnt have any of the same fear you said you had after waking up.

I have had dreams though that feel so real that when i wake up it puts me in a certain mood because of how it affected me. Sometimes it can last the whole day

I had a dream last night that the sun exploded. The planet was not destoryed, though I was fighting for food and was terrified. Suddenly, I saw a strange sign in the air. It said that I could go to another universe. I then appeared in another universe where the sun was still shining. I was there for a week, then their sun was about to explode. I grabbed a person I knew from that universe and went back to mine. Mine was awful. I got back, and the whole place was frozen, and the person who I had brought with me had turned into a bird. I then went to this building that I saw had lights. They were recruiting people to go to the Middle East for warmth. I joined them, but before I went anywhere, the building's power went out.

Once I dreamt that I was Jewish, (bare with me), and as a race we had discovered a way to go back in time and stop the War, undoing the damage of the Nazi's. We (myself - I'm a man in this dream, and a group of other scientists I suppose about 8 or 10 people in total) built this machine that was made up of gold (the only thing that could keep us alive during the time travel). At the end, we were selected by our people to go back in time and prevent the horrible atrocity. I can remember being the last one inside the machine; I almost didn't make it inside before the machine transported. When all was settled down, we emerged to find an unexpected turn of events. Instead of going back in time, we had stayed in our current time HOWEVER somehow our machine had destroyed the Earth. The effects were similar to an atomic bomb. All of mankind was dead. The Earth was barren. There was no water and no source of nourishment. We sat huddled inside the broken machine contemplating what we had done, until one by one we died of hunger.

I have had several apocalyptic dreams as well. Here are a couple I remember:

One was years ago, during the time I was reading the book "Lucifer's Hammer," by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle. The book is a realistic portrayal of the aftermath of a comet striking the earth. That day, I had read the section of the book where the comet actually hits earth, and was very impressed by the vividness of the writing. That night, I dreamed I was in a car, trying to get out of the city. I was on a highway through the country, stuck in impossible traffic because of all the other people trying to evacuate. We looked up in the sky to see the fireball of the comet passing us by. It was a bright white light with a tail, moving across the sky from left to right well above the trees. That's all I can remember, but it was so incredibly vivid that I thought I was there.

The second was that I was in the back yard of my parent's house, near Windsor, Ontario. My parents, wife and some other people were there with me. It was night time, and we were standing right next to the house about 10 feet from the fence. I then saw some mushroom clouds rising up through the air in the distance, bright orange with flame. I'm not sure if they were nuclear or not, but with explosions that big, does it matter? I looked at the fence at the bottom of the yard and saw about a dozen or so people jumping the fence and running toward us. They were attacking us, but they were not military, they were just citizens, and were crazed by something. As they ran toward us, I told everyone to get in the house, and got ready to defend us. The first of the attackers reached me and tried to punch me. I ducked low, and swung my fist into their stomach.

At this moment, I woke up, because I had actually punched my wife in the stomach in my sleep! She was OK since it wasn't that hard... but I felt like dirt afterward.

I've had a couple other apocalyptic dreams, but don't remember much detail, other than sitting on top of a building in Windsor, watching flaming objects fall on Detroit, across the river. Sometimes I wake up disturbed or with a lingering feeling of fear or unease, and occiasionally have had to go to the window to make sure the world is still there.

Yes, I've had an apocalyptic dream before, but I was very young. The only thing I remember is running through the streets and a shadow falling over me. Hmm.

To dream of the end of the world represents thoughts or feelings you have about a dramatic change or situation in life where you don't know what to do. You may be experiencing anxiety for the future, and there may be a lot of changes, good or bad, that confuse or frustrate you.

The dream may indicate the end of one kind of lifestyle and the beginning of another.

I recently had a zombie apocalypse dream that was both kind of fun and scary at the same time [I LOVE having zombie dreams, they're fun =P]. I wasn't lucid in this dream though, damn...

So I remember running from a huge crowd of zombies and I run into my school and lock the doors. I start wondering around the school looking for other people and stuff and every exit to the school I walk by has zombies pressing their hands against the doors trying to get in. I start peeking in rooms just checking the place out and I come to the school library. I open the doors and I was pretty freaked out by what I saw. Has anyone played Resident Evil 4 here?

Well there are these type of monsters that scare the shit out of me, they're called iron maidens and they have the shape of humans but they're kind of pinkish and have spikes coming out of their bodies. They also have no eyes and a giant mouth with sharp teeth in it. They're freaky bastards 0_o and they also twitch while they walk and breath like porn stars...

There's about five of them in the library, I close the door and run like hell. I hear them behind me though, creepy breathing... ugh o.O So I turn down a hallway and go down the stairs that lead to the first floor and for some reason there's a pool down there. Then one of them walks into the pool area and somehow I trick it into falling into the pool. Then I go around looking for weapons and yeah...this dream is pretty long but it ends with me going around the world and finding out that I'm the only non-zombie left. It was a pretty cool dream.
      I love zombie dreams 8D

Not so much apocalyptic, but i had a very vivid dream i myself and a few other people walking around aimlessly in a empty muddy land where we had to keep constantly moving otherwise we would sink. the strange thing was that in the dream i felt like this was the place we go after we die.

I've had a dream in my earlier childhood, about a apocalypse impending on London.Mostly sirens turning on and the sky flooded with nuclear weaponry, and me getting struck by a warm wave of heat, which destroyed everything around me,and spawning a wobbling zombie which walked towards me...Pretty weird dream...though,I'm glad that I woke up quickly before it attacked me....

Though it was so real,I almost died from depression.

I've had apocalypse dreams many times. They are always scary. They include earthquakes where buildings fall down, the earth swallows people, ground liquefies, also distant volcanoes blowing up; quite often I seem to have dreams where the water starts rising. Myself and others scramble for higher ground but the water keeps coming up. Such a sense of dread. I remember one dream from years ago where I was the last person on the highest point of ground on earth and the water finally came over my head. Imagine my relief when I realized I could breath under water!!

But I still have the water dreams and the apocalypse dreams and I still wake up glad that it was just a dream.

I remember a dream in which a nuclear war/zombie apocalypse had occurred. I made my way to a hotel with green walls and crumbling wallpapers with a group of survivors inside. The man behind the desk wore a fancy suit, but I had noticed he had a cruel and evil demeanor.

The man led us outside through a blasted out wall. It was like a cave with the ceiling gone where you could see outside. It was nighttime and he was likely showing us where we could sleep. Then a moment later, he turned into a hulking monster (Imagine the Gremloblin from Gravity Falls) and threw me across the cave. My back had slammed into a rock wall, and I started coughing blood. He then turned his attention to the little girl and her parents that I had been with.

He threw one of her parents to the side. Killing him. And just as he was about to do the same to her, a strange pink energy started forming in front of him. Strange pink circles with white interiors formed into a humanoid, pink, spirit-like woman. "LAY YOUR HANDS OFF MY SISTER!" she said, and threw him across the cave wall. She had proceeded to pummel him into the ground with great force and promptly killed him. I got back on my feet afterwards, and thanked her for helping us out. She disappeared shortly there-afterwards, and I told the little girl that she would be luckier if she stuck with me, and left.

I have had an apocalyptic dream myself.

      1. I am driving and all of sudden I hear a noise (somehow I know it is abomb) and my car gets blown off the road. I feel myself loosing consciousness as I think this is is the end.

      2. Everything around me is in rubble and somehow I know is that the city was bombed or turned into rubble by h-bomb.

      3. Everyone is injured and I am in some building left standing after bomb. I am trying to find my family but no one has seen them.

      4. I am helping treat wounded. There are so many injured but what bothers me more is how much are already dead. My body has all sort of weird boils all over it.
