Wow - I don't envy you having those types of dreams all the time! Especially ones like the last one when your emotions are so strong and powerful. And it's amazing you remember those dreams from when you were so young!

Are you ever lucid in any of these apocalyptic dreams?

Heh, you don't remember the nightmares you had when you were young?
Meh, maybe i wasn't 2. I was prolly 4 or somethin' =P. Young enough to have bath-toys, at least ^_^

I have not been lucid in an Apocolypic Dream...but honestly, I kinda want to.
Unless it's like the rope dream where I can do NOTHING to save the world-
I really like those actionpacked dreams where I'm on the mission to defeat the bad guys who want to destroy earth =P.
THAT in a Lucid dream would be very thrilling, speccially if I knew it was a dream and I had nothing to lose, heh.

I don't know if you've read my Dream Journal, but yeah, I've had them. It gives me a slight uneasyness too, because I have had a couple precognitive dreams too. I don't actually believe Im foreseeing the end of the world, its just a feeling that I don't like.

But I've had 2 mainly. One Recurring, the other I've only had once, but I expect I'll be seeing it again soon. Its connected to the first, recurring one as well. Give it a read if you want.

I had one where I fought for the fate of the earth before, though it wasn't lucid. The fight took place on the moon.

I have a friend from BC who has them all the time.

For some reason he seems to be afraid of LD'ing and won't visit this site.

I used to have them all the time when I was little! Most of mine involved lava over flowing from places lava should not be flowing from. And in the end it was always just me and my sisters who have surrived.

But the most disturbing one I had involved a quiet little town. Everything was peaceful and right. But then sirens go off and everyone runs for the apartments, which are actually bunkers. I didn't know what we were running from, until I heard people screaming "THE STORM! THE STORM IS COMING!"

I run inside a bunker with my family, but as my parents slam the door I noticed that dozens of smaller children had not made it safe inside - they run too slow. As if the walls became transparent I watched them all burn and die slow deaths from the rain of the Storm. And I was horrified at how fast everyone had locked their doors, refusing to leave them open for a couple of more seconds. Once the Storm had passed everyone resumed their normal lives not caring that all the children of the town had just died.

I was like a lifeless zombie, I had no purpose after wards, I was dead and destroyed inside after watching the children die. It was only a matter of minutes before the Sirens went off again and people screamed THE STORM THE STORM. But I only half heartedly took shelter, and I took shelter in a wooden shed knowing the rain would seep through. I just didnt care anymore.

years later I had another end of the world dream, this was very abstract and made little to no sense. though I found it amusing that the end was brought by American flags falling from the sky, as if they were bombs!

And I dont know if this one counts....! It was funny dream. Zombies have invaded the university!! And the zombie queen forbids that we go outside, to freedom. Well me and a couple of students snuck our way to the pantry, which had a door. I open the door and let in all the gorgeous and warm sunlight!!! But then my fellow students start screaming and warn me not to go outside....They must still be brain washed by the Zombie queen I think! But then my eyes adjusted to the sunlight....Guns being fired! Robbers smashing windows! Cars being broken in two while others randomnly crash into the street scenes. Alarms going off! Old grannies getting pick pocketed while couples run in fear! And children screaming as they run away from bad guys wearing black hoods!

Ok, so zombies or the most ghetto existance on earth. I gotta tell you, it was a tough choice!

Yeah, O's got some kick-arse lucids. He's probably got the best DJ on DV

Anyway, I don't have lots of truly apocalyptic dreams, but I have lots about massive disasters.
Nuclear war seems to be the most common--but it's usually limited to a single bomb near my house, not a full-scale war. I'm actually kind of proud of myself, because even though I've been far from lucidity in all of my nuclear dreams, I always manage to keep my head about me despite being terrified. In two of my recent ones, I more or less had the perfect disaster plan. I unloaded my pantry downstairs into the car, drove to the library (it's a fallout shelter from the Cold War), and was helping keep everybody calm, treating some minor radiation poisoning and everything.
It's just an odd feeling...standing there, then feeling the heat on your back and being blinded by a flash, then turning just in time to see the mushroom cloud...

I had a dream about the apocalypse, it took up an entire night, it was pretty cool/freakish.

It started with me being at this abandoned train station/mine. I helped out a dying blob, and it said it'd reward me with a trip to its "mother ship", oooh, spooky!

When I got there, I saw aliens, and they were preparing an invasion of Earth, and for some reason, I went with them, and killed people.

In the end though, something happened, and the medics on the mother ship (which had finally moved through the atmosphere of the Earth) and the medics started helping humans, and I was told to kill them.

And so I went, killing people, killing the medics, sometimes killing the people they were trying to help, sometimes just leaving them there. Then I got to one room, and there was someone I knew from school, so I had to that person too.

Eventually, once everything was done, I got back down to Earth, being told I had done a good job, and got to spend sometime on the planet before they finally blew it up. While I was on the planet, I gathered up a few people from school, and I remembered that I killed them.

o_O Yeah, when I woke up, it was kind of weird. The dream itself sounds like some bad movie. Yeah, I was playing too much Shadow the Hedgehog when I had that dream. (I JUST GOT THE GAME! GIMME A BREAK! >_>)

When I was young, I had lots of apocalyptic dreams, though I only remember some of them.

In one of them, the entire earth just went into a big vulcano, killing everybody. I remember how we fled from our house, as lava sprung out from cracks in the ground. The person causing all this stuff was that fat red devil dude from the CartoonNetwork show "I'm Weasel". Weird

In another one, some villain from another cartoon, tricked my father into assembling two parts. The two parts created a bomb, blowing up the entire world. Just as he put them together I yelled, really loud, "NO!!" not "Noooooooooooo" just "NO!!!" and then I found myself sitting in my bed.

I also had one, where God told all humans on earth, that today, he would end the earth. He would simply just remove all air from the earth. I remember how I was standing in this wonderfull garden place, with many other people, that I didn't know. We were looking at a red wooden box with a black X on. We checked our watches, and saw the countdown. The world would end at 16:00. As the clock was 16, I looked around. I was still alive. I started to dance around, but then, I started to feel weird. My entire body was stretched into a macaronni. I saw how people around me slowly ran out of air, how they were stretched and killed. I noticed that I couldn't breath either. At that point I said to myself "Oh god, this can't be real. Wait minute." I looked around me, checking everything out. I then said to myself "Holy crap, this is a dream?!". One of my first lucid dreams, but I was 6 years old, so I didn't know anything about it. The dream ended shortly after, but I was still scared though, despite that I was lucid. When I woke up, I had a pain in my throat for the rest of the day :s?

That's what I remember.

i have had one apocalyptic dream to date :

i was in a shop in the old gothic centre in my city, helping a friend of mine to put some things in order although i knew the apocalypse was coming any moment now. As i started out the door, i could feel it coming - the air all around me shimmered and had a firey hue to it. As i frantically ran towards a house i knew was a safe haven, the air resisted me like water would and i could feel every atom of my being was being ripped apart. Suddenly i saw a huge fire reflected from the windows infront of me and as i turned around, i saw a huge mushroom cloud ascending towards the sky.

Ive had a few, all nuclear except one which involved giant robots invading they almost all start of with me in my field and and I look to the sky and see a large abject descending to Earth and I realize that Im going to die. However one took play at walmart, we all knew the bomb was coming except the blast wouldn't hit us, only the shockwave would. So we all got large chains and ropes and tied are sevles down to reinforced light posts. Don't remember what happen in the walmart one....

as a child i used to get frightened by my dreams, but now i am not afraid of anything. Every time i see a "scary" dream, after waking up i reminisce about how cool it was
with this specific dream i was not frightened after waking up, but with the conviction that you can only have in dreams, i knew that had i been able to feel pain in the dream, it would have been the most excruciating thing anything alive can imagine.
The dream ended as i turned away from the mushroom cloud and when the heavens opened up, reigning fire on the world.

I used to have a dream where the world was ending a few times when I was little. It was mostly the same way that I can remember, the ground just cracked in a path like, how pacman dies, but around the world. and I was just trying to run fast fast enough to not fall down into the gaping canyons. Sometimes I would slip and hold onto the edge of the ground, or fall down a bit and grab onto a rock and swing myself back up, and while I was doing this the ground would not split anymore lol, i think because in my sub conscious I didnt want to die IRL or in my dream. But mostly i would just run from the cracking until I woke up or found a place that for some unknown reason was not cracking and I was with a friend sitting there. When I had a friend with me we usually helped each other to avoid the canyons while running and jupming over them etc. This is probly the first time I remember becoming slightly lucid naturally, I occasionally flew down the canyons to see what it led to and then appeared or flew back up to the top and kept running.

Frequent Apocalyptic dreams - predominatly involving warfare / nuclear events, but have had at least one involving a virus, perhaps another involving some sort of massive electrical event like a sunstorm.

I can only remember one (as of now) dream that involved the apocalypse:

The world was all lava. Just imagine the world's oceans rising about 100 feet and then transforming into lava. There was no land at all to escape to. It was strange though, there were many large buildings just floating on the lava. I was in one of those buildings, mine was about the size of a good sized room. There were several strangers with me. I also a mansion sized building or two floating not far from our building. It seemed as though these buildings were bunkers of sorts, that they were made for just this occaision. I guess the world was prepared, so i wasn't really that scared. I fully expected to come out of it alive. It actually became a bit humorous when giant jets of lava would erupt right under a building and the fountain of molten rock would raise the buildings hundreds of feet in the air, and then it would let it back down to the lava completely unharmed. There were some close calls about falling out of the building. And though I was scared a little bit, I was suprisingly calm about it all.

I guess it really didn't seem that apocalyptic. Despite the fact that I was literally in a lake of fire, the overall feel wasn't biblical at all. I was certain that the human race would continue, and my own life felt like it had a good chance of coming through alive.

I've had several, they all involve Tidal Waves and Hurricane force winds.
THe last one I had I remember thinking "I thought I'd have more time"

THe odd thing about these dreams it that there is usually some kind of whirlpool or vortex in the sky. The stars get all twisted up and released, sections of sky switch place, and it's really an awe inspiring sight. Makes the destruction around me seem insignificant in comparison.

I often have Apocolyptic zombie dreams, where there is like a full on goin war between soldiers and school kids against zombies and some fast jet black mutant things.

Yeah zombie dreams are the best in my opinion, it can give you a real insight to your instincts by seeing what you would do in that situation.

i have had one or two of these kinds of dreams. the worst one i had was i was in my backyard and this freaky circus music starts playing, and then i look up and the bright blue sky turns into darkness and the moon turns to a blood red color... it was way freaky. i had just been reading in revelations that night so that must have triggered it.
