Waking up in the middle of night, saying absurd things

This is getting embarrassing. I wake my parents up and tell them random things. Scaringly absurd things. While doing this, I'm awake but I'm also half asleep so I can't really control what I'm saying. In the mornings, as soon as I wake up I kind of remember it all, though not in detail.

Yesterday night, after series of non-lucid false awakenings, I woke up and once again talked nonsense, panicking over a very funny thing.

Why is this happening? And how can I avoid it?

If this happened to me I would Google it and see if it's the symptom of brain damage or the onset of something bad. Then if it still worried me I would see my doctor (ev doktoru). I have no idea though.. Is it very different from sleepwalking? My mother tells me I once went downstairs, to the toilet without actually using it, flushed it and went back up. A few times I did weird things like this. Once I took my brother's playing cards and threw them into the waste basket But if this started happening suddenly and frequently I would really worry.

It is like sleep walking. And it has happened before. It's not that I'm doing this every single day. If somebody wakes me up in the middle of night, the same thing happens. I start talking nonsense. Also, let's say I went to the bathroom then had a glass of water and went back to bed, in the morning I can never be sure whether I was dreaming or not.
I'm very confused at night because I've had many false awakenings and lucids taking place at home. I'm afraid of losing touch with reality.

      Yeah so it's occasional right?
I wouldn't worry about it, instead I would see if I can let a camera run all night and record my craziness

Easy just get in the habit of RC every time you are in that situation and it will transfer over. I'm not you so I can't say how much awareness you have, but I would imagine if you are actually doing it then there are conscious processes going on and you should feel very aware... Aware enough to do an RC. In theory that should work.

Eeesh. I have no idea, to be honest. It's only happened to me once (...that I know of...) and it still irks me like hell. Although, in my case, I wasn't saying nonsense. Apparently, I was cursing and being generally a very unpleasant person.

All I know is that, when I woke up the next day, my parents were extremely angry at me and I couldn't figure out why. After some uncomfortable minutes, I asked what the problem was and they were not amused.

      Oh, well.
