      The Color White

I have a question. Some times I'll have a dream where I'm inside a house or some kind of building. What makes me wonder is why the walls and furniture and basically everything are almost always colored white? I'm not really looking for an interpretation so much as a cause. Interpretations are welcome as well though.

The reasons I came up with are:

      It's a reoccurring dream symbol.

      It's chosen by default.

      I simply don't remember otherwise.

But I've noticed that most always when I'm inside a building, white is a major theme. Any thoughts?

It happens to me too. I guess it is just one of those dream logic things, but it could be a dreamsign.

I think because white is easy to remember, and really plain. But I am not a pro when it comes to this kind of stuff.

I usually never look at things directly in my dreams, and I know that there aren't usually any bright colors in my dreams. I think that this is a common thing in dreams

Well, most buildings have white walls and ceilings. Floors as well depending on the building. Look around for an entire day. If you are in a few different buildings, I would assume most have a white theme.

In my dreams, most things are richly colored. Mahogony and browns.

In an interpretive view, it can represent streamline and the 'norm', but sort of a generic 'corperation'. It can mean bordom or boringness.

Just in case you were wondering.

I think that white is a positive, happy color. While black is a negative, evil color. When you are in a dream, are you happy, indifferent, mad, or sad? I think feelings come out in colors and that may be why you see a lot of white.

I don't know... maybe you don't pay enough attention to the colours of the world around you. Try noting all the colors of the world and see if they don't come into your dreams.

Interpretation: Maybe your brain is telling you to slow down and take in details more often.

It could also be that you find many environments very sterile, as white tends to represent sterility.
On LD hiatus. Probably will start again around new years.

Or, you know -- randomly throughout this year and next.

Sounds like a lack of detail. Perhaps a sign that the dream isn't quite stable?

Recently, and for as long as I've noticed the white theme, my dreams have generally been unpleasant. Many, however, have been indifferent. I don't remember having any happy dreams lately, either.

I really like colors and notice them throughout the day.

Your interpretation could definitely be true and does make a great deal of sense in my waking life.

And about the sterility idea, I have to say no.

The dreams are not lucid, so I'm not sure if stability really applies too much. They have seemed stable looking back though.

Not happy dreams. More of yourself being happy in waking life.

Oh, okay I get it. I'm a pretty happy guy but really want to make some changes.

I read on dreammoods.com that (in addition to a lot of other things) white represents a reawakening. this makes much sense in my life and other dream symbols in my life are interpreted as a reawakening so I think this may be the case with my white dreams but I do welcome any thoughts.
