Yep. That happens to me a lot
I don't really think much of it, because it was just a dream. I have no idea why it happens though. Maybe it's connected to Deja Vu somehow.

I just think that in Dreamworld, when you're not lucid, your mind is just a "victim" of the dream. A lot of times I can recall not necessarily remembering thigns, but REALIZING/KNOWING things that are just not true or nonsensical, only after I wake up. EG: I'm in a circus in a dream, and I'm okay with it because, in this dream, I live in this circus, so it's commonplace.

So basically, memories and thoughts happen, but they're a good way of becoming lucid, by realizing they're not true.

Maybe in dreams your subconscious is trying to 'sort out' a hell of a lot more than it actually can during your dream, so it adds less important information as "memories"?

Yeah it's so strange...When i'm dreaming i "remember" things that never happened but i think that it's happened...

It's strange...And more strange is that EVER when i dream i have memories of non existent events...When i got lucid, sometimes it's like my consciousness is mixed with my sub counciousness and i have access to this memories...

In my last LD i was analising that things...And 1 thing i can remember: i have this memories in dreams since i'm child....

Like there is an alternative world...

I love when this happens. It gives me the most satisfying dreams. I think it is a key component in time dialation. You can have a dream that only lasts 30 minutes, but has false memories from an entire lifetime.

There's a phenomenon known as state dependent memory in which you are able to access memories and recollections of events that occurred to you in a specific state of conscious only when you're experiencing said state. This can apply to states of psychedelic awareness, dreaming, and normal consciousness, as well. It is possible that the memory of an event you are recalling when you're dreaming actually did occur to you but in a previous dream and not in waking. For example, if you are dreaming and remember having been to a concert (that you actually have never been to), it is possible that you've been to this concert in a previous dream. Of course, when you wake up and recall the dream, you are confused because you realize that you have never been to the concert. Well, you have, but just not in waking.

That's really interesting. I've only gone lucid a half a dozen times, maybe, so I barely remember a lot of my dreams. But as I recall, I don't know of ever having dreams linked. That would be SO awesome if all my dreams linked, almost like the matrix... haha

This has happened to me a few times, but when it happened, it was always related to what the dream was about. I think in my dream world, I was trying to come up with an explanation for what is going on, and I subconciously made up a false past in order to explain everything to myself.

That's what I've experienced, too DP. It is like my brain just invents a backstory for whatever scenario I am currently in. Like when you watch a spiderman cartoon. The cartoon is only 30 minutes long, but you know who Spiderman is. You know his backstory. You know his personality. You even know what happened in previous episodes.

      It's happening to me always.

Could it be some kind of... hmm how to say it. You see something unusual (as most dreams really are - weird places, unknown people, etc.) and your brain trying to prevent you to realize it's a dream (your mind wants you to keep dreaming) so it also gives you fake memories so you will be more like, for example "yes this is my room in the second house I have which I bought years ago" but in fact you have only one house. If you would realize you have only one house and it would be bigger chance for you to realize it's a dream.

You know what I mean? Pretty hard to explain myself what I want to say...

It's not always pure invention. Sometimes you remember things from previous dreams.

yeah usually this happens to me cause my brain is trying to ration out why things have happened, or why i am where i am, so it just fills it in with a memory to explain it

So last night, I had a dream where I was writing an essay with my friend (it was more exciting than in real life). It was funny, but the weird thing was the essay was an assignment by some teacher (who is no longer my teacher in real life), and during the dream, I remember the essay being assigned from an earlier dream! It was weird, and I wasn't lucid either time.

      So yeah... this finally happened.
