Does anyone else exist that feels pain in dreams?

Might sound strange but I have never met anyone who feels pain in a dream besides myself. Not only do I feel pain, but I feel every other human sensation and emotion. I either feel these things just as I do in real life, or they are enhanced and more intense. Touch, taste, smell, sight (obviously) and sound are just part of my dreams.

I don't always have all senses in every dream. Sometimes I have one or two, sometimes more, sometimes all of them. Smell is one sense that doesn't happen as frequently as the others.

As an example: I had an extremely vivid dream when I was 5 years old that I will never forget. I was in a dark, damp, warm warehouse; classic warehouse with old rusted machines, pipes everywhere and steam. Several grimy looking men and women were there who found me, bound me, and beat me with metal chains. Not the average dream for a 5-year-old and I felt everything as if it was real.

If I touch fabric, I can feel the weave and every single thread and how much cotton "gives" as compared to burlap. Maybe it's because I'm an artist, or because I super-analyze things in general, but it's persisted since I was a child.

A few times I vaguely remember dreaming without sight, but with other senses, which was strange and unnerving in a way.

Anyway, I would like to know if I'm a mutant or if anyone else experiences this. in 29 years I have not found one person who feels pain, let alone other senses, and never with as much detail as I do. They see and hear things, and have some sense of touch, but nothing like what I experience constantly. And I should end by saying that not all dreams are negative, I just pointed that one out because it's burned into my mind permanently.

      Thanks

      LS

I have felt pain in dreams before, but it usually results in me waking up. The time I specifically remember is when I got stabbed in the arm. It felt painful and real, and then I woke up to find out I was sleeping on my arm.

I've felt dulled pain a few times, but never the like the real thing.

I did have a dream though where i fell off a cliff and damn... I was so fearful and i felt the wind and gravity etc. When I woke up i still felt like i was falling and i had to get up, move around and drink some water to calm down.

But other times i've fell and it's been totally awesome I think it just depends on the dream, although pain is different i guess.

interesting. my dream pain doesn't relate to any physical thing happening to me, nor does it wake me up.

yes I've had those falling dreams too. Sometimes I have that helpless feeling and feel the wind etc, other times I just start to slow down and glide and it's fun, or I just swoop like a bird before slamming into the pavement. It is different than pain but you are feeling complex sensations from wind and gravity pulling.

In one of my first lucids, I was trying to fly. I got kind of high but I fell back down and it felt like my leg skin got shredded off. It hurt alot, and I stopped trying to fly, lol.
      Lucid dreams, gotta love em.

i once got my leg chopped off and didn't feel anything :p it was like i was made of rubber. on a different occasion i felt something uncomfortable which was really just the way i was sleeping.
I wander through the woods listening to the sound of nature. The sky turns red and opens before me. I realize that I must be dreaming... My adventure has just begun.

I have felt pain before in dreams. I have also experienced all the other senses very vividly although smell and taste don't occur all that often but when they do they are amazing.

Well it's nice to see I'm not alone in m suffering. weirdness, or whatever it is.

Did you find it happening frequently, during specific situations in certain dreams, ways of preventing it, etc? I usually go through a string of days or weeks where this seems to persist and it gets to the point where I dread going to sleep and go into sleep deprivation mode. Completely unhealthy but without a solution it's all I can think of to try and avoid the nightly horrors.

I only feel real pain when I am in a lucid dream, and then its really really real. In contrast non-lucid dreams I don't have much feeling, its more visual than anything else. The easiest way I can think of to avoid dream pain is to pretend it dosn't hurt, because in your dream if you believe it, it can be true. Best of luck.

I have often felt pain in dreams. If I am lucid, I say, "This is a dream, I feel no pain!"

I have been working on experiencing the senses of touch, taste and smell more. I can only smell in dreams sometimes. Imagine a dream where smell was your only sense!

Raven Knight has extremely good taste and smell in dreams.

You only feel pain in dreams when you take the time to focus on it. If there is something else around to distract you from the pain, like you're running for your life, you won't feel a thing. Everything requires your attention to exist in dreams, even pain.

I also felt pain in my dreams. Although it was connected with body and it woke me up and the pain did not disappear.
Once I had so much pain in a dream I jumped out of my body so that I could`t feel it. Literally I had OOBE in that dream.
