Might sound strange but I have never met anyone who feels pain in a dream besides myself. Not only do I feel pain, but I feel every other human sensation and emotion. I either feel these things just as I do in real life, or they are enhanced and more intense. Touch, taste, smell, sight (obviously) and sound are just part of my dreams.

I don't always have all senses in every dream. Sometimes I have one or two, sometimes more, sometimes all of them. Smell is one sense that doesn't happen as frequently as the others.

As an example: I had an extremely vivid dream when I was 5 years old that I will never forget. I was in a dark, damp, warm warehouse; classic warehouse with old rusted machines, pipes everywhere and steam. Several grimy looking men and women were there who found me, bound me, and beat me with metal chains. Not the average dream for a 5-year-old and I felt everything as if it was real.

If I touch fabric, I can feel the weave and every single thread and how much cotton "gives" as compared to burlap. Maybe it's because I'm an artist, or because I super-analyze things in general, but it's persisted since I was a child.

A few times I vaguely remember dreaming without sight, but with other senses, which was strange and unnerving in a way.

Anyway, I would like to know if I'm a mutant or if anyone else experiences this. in 29 years I have not found one person who feels pain, let alone other senses, and never with as much detail as I do. They see and hear things, and have some sense of touch, but nothing like what I experience constantly. And I should end by saying that not all dreams are negative, I just pointed that one out because it's burned into my mind permanently.

Thanks
