Okay, well i went to bed last night at around 11 pm, trying to do a visual MILD, I pictured my dream and recited my mantra .

Suddenly I woke up, I thought I was dreaming, I was in my room and a huge noise that sounded like 100 jet planes taking off deafened me. I stay in my bed and did a reality check, I plugged my nose, I could still breathe, so I then counted my fingers.. normal 10. WTF, I'm awake? or is this a false awakening that they talk about?

The nosie gets louder and louder then suddenly my bedroom starts shaking side to side, I sit up in my bed and get thrown across the room. "Woah this is one mad dream" . Shit starts to fall of my shelves and I hear thing smash....

Okay I don't think i'm dreaming anymore.

Adrenaline kicks in, and the reaslistion of what is happening. I run into to the hall screaming "EARTHQUAKE"!!!!!!! I wake up my mum, dad and sister and we run out of the house, smashing against walls as the tremours throw us around.

I am outside my house now, the rumble and the shacking still going, trying to keep balance. It lasts about a minute then stops. I curse, then do another reality check. Failed again.

Oh shit, this is real. car alarms, house alarms and sirens are going off all around me. I go back inside and try to turn on the TV... F**CK power cut. NO TV , NO INTERNET. But wait, cellphone! I go to google on my cellphone and it turns out a...

7.4 EARTHQUAKE has hit Christchurch New Zealand... O shit, Tsunami ? So we drive up to the hills

That was one of the mose WTF moments of my life.

wow epic. at first I thought it was one of those LD's where you first do an RC but it doesn't work so you think it's RL but then either realise it's a dream or just wake up.

I once had a similar story only way lamer: I was walking down the street during the evening and realized I had my university folder with my copybooks with me even though I never carry em this late - took several mins of RC-ing to convince myself it was RL - turns out I took it on autopilot/without noticing.

Yes it was horrible, and still is. A lot of damage and the aftershocks are still happening, just had a 5.2 and a 5.4 within the last 20 mins (and another small one). At first I thought I was dreaming also. Then went on to have 2 non lucid dreams about it. (after staying up for over an hour and then constantly being woken during the rest of the morning, have seriously had like 30+ aftershocks)

Haha, hope your okay : ) I slept through most of them last night , the big 5.0 + after shocks. The rest of my family got up , but I slept through most of them.

Wow, that must have been horrible.

I hope that doesn't happen to me. A mega quake about that size is supposed to hit Alaska sometime. Most likely within my life time. Anyone noticing almost all of the major earthquakes within the past year or two have been on the same fault line? hmmm? anyone? I have! I predicted most of those earthquakes! No phycicness, just logic and common sense.

so, now I"m scared every day that an earthquake like that will happen.

Wow pretty cool story! Would have been damn scary man haha I would have been RCing and wondering what was going on. I prolly would have tried to control shit thinking it must have been a dream haha glad everyone down there is alright.
