      Can't control my WILDs?

Last night I had my second WILD ever.

On both occasions, the WILD has begun as a false awakening in my bedroom, which meant that my dream world was an exact replica of my dark, silent, empty bedroom.

The first time I did it, I wasn’t even able to leave the bedroom. I tried to jump through the window but my dream body was acting clumsy plus something happened that made me frightened and anxious, so I didn’t manage to get it open. It never occurred to me to leave through the door or through any other method.

The second time (last night) I opened the window with no problems and jumped out, hoping to fly away. Instead, I gently floated down onto the street, which was also, dark, silent and empty. I wandered the streets for a while aimlessly looking for something to do until I either lost lucidity or woke up, can’t remember.

In contrast, whenever I’ve DILDed or had spontaneous LDs, I’ve found myself in extremely vivid places and my lucidity has allowed me to exercise god-like control over dream world, completely at will.

Perhaps entering the dream world from inside my own bedroom causes the dream to be rooted on something so realistic that my subconscious refuses to accept the oddities that I would normally be capable of performing? Or what?

What I want to do is to be able to travel from the dark and gloomy dream world I’m finding myself in by WILDing, to the vivid, vibrant dream world that I’ve explored during DILDs and spontaneous LDs.

Was it another CANWILD? If so... The problem with those is that sometimes you don't have enough time to ground your awareness before you get into the dream. But if you entered it fully concious, how can you not remember how it ended? I'm starting to think there's no real difference between WILD and DILD, in terms of recall.

No, this was a natural WILD (perhaps a DEILD?) like the first WILD we discussed in that other thread but without the SP vibrations. In retrospect, I think those may have been the reason I freaked out the first time.

As I recall it, this time I was fully conscious and aware since the beginning because I did 3 reality checks right away when I “woke up” to the FA: the nose plug, the finger count and the finger-through-palm. I even had some fun swirling my right index finger inside mi left palm over and over, enjoying the thought that I was, in fact, dreaming and aware of it. How could I have forgotten how it ended? Well, that’s a good question. I just can’t remember. My guess is I may have woken just for an instant, not enough to remember waking but enough to kill the LD.

Anyway, do you have any tips on how to escape from my gloomy WILD dream world?

I wishhh I could just WILD into my room like that . I'm assuming you just woke up and remembered not to move right? You're really good at that.

Next time you do it, just try to leave through the door, lol. Or maybe you could lightly spin and will something to change?

I did try to spin (forgot to mention that in the OP) but nothing happened

I may try the door next time. The thing is, it's a long way from my bedroom to the front door of my house and I have to pass a locked door and a locked set of gates to get to the street. But maybe I can just walk through them, who knows, it's worth the shot.

Basically, yeah, I wake up and remember not to move and allow myself to drift back off until somehow I find myself in a FA. Perhaps I'm not inducing it but more catching it, because I've gotten into the habit of doing RC's a few seconds after every time I wake up, i.e. wake up -> don't move -> wait a few seconds -> do a RC.

Nicee. When I wake up I always end up checking things... Like what time it is, or if anyone sent me any texts or whatever. Anyways, Im going to start doing that. If it doesn't work then i'll just try a regular WILD.

I forgot to mention, I go through things. I don't bother with doors or glass. I just walk up to them expecting to go through and boom, I'm through. Try it out!

I think what you're describing is the difference between REM dreams and non-REM dreams. REM dreams tend to be action packed and exciting, while their non-REM counterparts tend to be more dull. When WILDing, you haven't had a chance to enter the REM state yet. With DILDing, the odds are you are already in a REM phase, and it's that intense dream imagery that tipped you off that you were dreaming.

I believe that we are not slaves to our sleep cycles, and that you can kick start a REM cycle whenever you feel like it. Next time you WILD, start smashing shit, jump around doing Jedi moves, or just start flying. That should be enough to kick start a REM cycle, providing the dream intensity you're looking for.
